Kemampuan numerasi penting dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, tetapi banyak siswa masih kesulitan dalam memahami dan menerapkan konsep numerasi, salah satu faktornya karena metode pembelajaran yang kurang efektif. hal ini juga berdampak pada self efficacy matematis mereka, di mana siswa yang lemah dalam numerasi cenderung kurang yakin terhadap kemampuan diri dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika. tujuan penelitian ini yaitu menganalisis peningkatan kemampuan numerasi dan self efficacy matematis siswa melalui pendekatan realistic mathematics education (rme) dengan konteks pencemaran ekosistem laut dibandingkan pembelajaran konvensional. selain itu, penelitian ini juga menganalisis interaksi antara pendekatan pembelajaran dengan tingkat kemampuan awal siswa. penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan disain quasi experimental design, dengan menerapkan nonequivalent (pretest and posttest) control group design. sampel penelitian terdiri dari 63 siswa kelas viii di mtsn pendekatan banda aceh, pemilihan sampel tidak dilakukan secara acak (non-random assignment) dengan 31 siswa pada kelas eksperimen dan 32 siswa pada kelas kontrol. instrumen penelitian meliputi tes numerasi berbentuk soal akm serta angket self efficacy matematis. analisis data dilakukan dengan independent sample t-test dan uji two-way anova. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran melalui pendekatan rme dengan konteks pencemaran ekosistem laut secara signifikan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan numerasi dan self efficacy matematis siswa dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional. selain itu, tidak terdapat interaksi antara pendekatan pembelajaran dan tingkat kemampuan siswa terhadap kemampuan numerasi dan terdapat interaksi interaksi antara pendekatan pembelajaran dan tingkat kemampuan siswa terhadap self efficacy matematis. dengan demikian, pendekatan rme berbasis konteks pencemaran ekosistem laut dapat menjadi strategi pembelajaran inovatif yang tidak hanya meningkatkan keterampilan numerasi siswa, tetapi juga membangun self efficacy mereka dalam menghadapi tantangan matematika di dunia nyata. kata kunci: kemampuan numerasi, self efficacy matematis, pendekatan realistic mathematic education (rme), konteks pencemaran ekosistem laut.



Abstract

Numeracy skills are important in everyday life, but many students still have difficulties in understanding and applying numeracy concepts, one of the factors is due to ineffective learning methods. This also has an impact on their mathematical self efficacy, where students who are weak in numeracy tend to be less confident in their ability to solve math problems. The purpose of this study is to analyze the improvement of numeracy skills and mathematical self efficacy of students through the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach with the context of marine ecosystem pollution compared to conventional learning. In addition, this study also analyzed the interaction between learning approaches and students' initial ability level. This study used a quantitative approach with a Quasi Experimental Design, by applying a nonequivalent (pretest and posttest) control group design. The research sample consisted of 63 students in class VIII at MTsN Banda Aceh approach, the sample selection was not done randomly (non-random assignment) with 31 students in the experimental class and 32 students in the control class. The research instruments included numeracy tests in the form of AKM questions and mathematical self efficacy questionnaires. Data analysis was conducted with independent sample t-test and two- way ANOVA test. The results showed that learning through the RME approach with the context of marine ecosystem pollution can significantly improve students' numeracy skills and mathematical self efficacy compared to conventional learning. In addition, there is no interaction between learning approach and students' ability level on numeracy ability and there is interaction between learning approach and students' ability level on mathematical self efficacy. Thus, the RME approach based on the context of marine ecosystem pollution can be an innovative learning strategy that not only improves students' numeracy skills, but also builds their self efficacy in facing mathematical challenges in the real world.
