Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis adalah suatu aktivitas kognitif yang kompleks untuk mencari penyelesaian dari masalah matematika yang dihadapi dengan menggunakan semua pengetahuan matematika yang dimiliki secara integrative. saat ini diketahui bahwa masih banyak siswa yang mengalami kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan soal masalah. kesalahan yang sering terjadi meliputi kesalahan dalam memahami informasi dari soal serta dalam menentukan prosedur penyelesaian yang tepat. hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil tes dan rata-rata nilai kelas yang masih belum optimal, sehingga berpengaruh pada kurangnya keterampilan siswa dalam memecahkan masalah. salah satu usaha untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yaitu dengan menerapkan suatu model pempelajaran cooperative tipe think talk write (ttw). tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui adakah peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa melalui model ttw di kelas viii smp negeri 2 banda aceh. penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pre-experimental dan jenis one group pretest-posttest. populasi penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas viii smp negeri 2 banda aceh dan sampel pada penelitian ini yaitu kelas viii.6 yang terdiri dari 26 siswa. teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah purposive sampling yaitu teknik pengambilan sampel dengan pertimbangan tertentu, yaitu pertimbangan saran guru bidang studi. instrument penelitia ini berupa 3 butir soal pretest dan soal posttest, uji hipotesis dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji t berpasangan. hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa melalui model ttw di kelas viii smpn 2 banda aceh. berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis dengan tingkat signifikansi ∝ = 0,05 dan derajat kebebasan dk = 25, diperoleh nilai t_hitung>t_tabel, yaitu 24,63 > 1,708. sehingga h_0 ditolak dan h_1 diterima. kata kunci: model cooperative tipe ttw, pemecahan masalah matematis

Mathematical problem solving ability is a complex cognitive activity to find solutions to mathematical problems faced by using all the mathematical knowledge they have in an integrative manner. It is currently known that many students still have difficulty in solving problems. Common mistakes include mistakes in understanding information from the problem and in determining the correct solution procedure. This can be seen from the test results and the average class score which is still not optimal, so that it affects the lack of students' skills in solving problems. One effort to improve students' mathematical problem solving ability is to apply a cooperative learning model of the think talk write (TTW) type. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was an increase in students' mathematical problem solving ability through the TTW model in class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Banda Aceh. This study is a quantitative study with the design used in this study is pre-experimental and one group pretest-posttest type. The population of this study was all students of class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Banda Aceh and the sample in this study was class VIII.6 which consisted of 26 students. The sampling technique in this study was purposive sampling, which is a sampling technique with certain considerations, namely the consideration of the subject teacher's suggestions. The research instrument was in the form of 3 pretest and posttest questions. Hypothesis testing was carried out using the Paired T Test. The results of this study indicate that there is an increase in students' mathematical problem-solving abilities through the TTW model in class VIII of SMPN 2 Banda Aceh. Based on the results of the hypothesis test with a significance level of ∝ = 0.05 and degrees of freedom dk = 25, thet_count>t_table value was obtained, which is 24.63 > 1.708.
