VLORIN YUAREND, EVALUASI PROFIL HEMATOLOGI KUCING LOKAL (FELIS CATUS DOMESTICUS) SELAMA PENGENDALIAN CTENOCEPHALIDES FELIS. Banda Aceh Fakultas Kedokteran Hewan,

Abstract

ABSTRACT Blood is a very important body fluid. Blood is composed of various components, both liquid components in the form of plasma and solid components in the form of blood cells. Fleas are one of the ectoparasites that can infest the surface of a cat's body. The presence of fleas (Ctenocephalides felis) can cause changes in the hematological profile of local cats. This study aims to see the evaluation of the hematological profile of local cats during the control of Ctenocephalides felis. Hematological examinations include RBC, WBC, Hemoglobin, Hematocrit and Leukocyte Differential. Data from the study on the hematological profile of local cats infested with Ctenocephalides felis as many as 10 fleas per cat were tabulated, entered into a table and analyzed descriptively. After that, it was continued with the Independent Test. The results of the data analysis showed that the hematological examination parameters of local cats (Felis catus domesticus) on days 0, 7 and 21 had significant results in RBC, lymphocytes, and monocytes. In WBC, hemoglobin, hematocrit, eosinophils, basophils and neutrophils there were no significant results. The use of chemical insecticides in the form of Deltamethrine has been proven to control the ectoparasite Ctenocephalides felis faster than the natural insecticide Etlingera elatior 10%. Keywords: Ctenocephalides felis, Etlingera elatior, Hematology, Local cat
