Munazar, 2013. analysis of agribusiness development challenges and opportunities red chili in district jantho aceh besar, under the guidance of dr. ir. indra, mp and dr. ir. sofyan, m.agric. sc. this study aims to analyze the internal and external factors are the challenges and opportunities in agribusiness development chili and the amount of profit earned from farming chili farmers in the district of aceh besar district jantho city. method of data collection using primary data and secondary data both qualitative and quantitative. primary data were obtained from direct observations in the field (observation) and interviews with 43 farmers were taken by census respondents and respondents from the extension, bureaucrats and merchants, who had been set intentionally (purposive sampling). the analysis used is the analysis of the internal environment, external environment analysis, internal-external matrix analysis, swot analysis and analysis of r / c ratio. the results showed that the internal factors are affecting the strength of chili farming development in sub city jantho ie, availability of arable land with the highest total score of 0.56 and a drawback is the limited capital of farmers with the lowest score is 0.15. while external factors are the main threats are pests and diseases with a total score of 0.24 and opportunities are increasingly high demand the highest score is 0.66. while the analysis of the feasibility of chili farming in sub city jantho viable and developed if the terms of the financial aspect. it can be seen from the r / c ratio, which every farmer expenditure of rp 1, - will be rewarded revenue of rp 3.05, - keywords: chilli red, challenges and opportunities, development of agribusiness
