RAISA AFIFA, KARAKTERISASI DAN PURIFIKASI RESIDU MINYAK NILAM ACEH (POGOSTEMON CABLIN BENTH) HASIL DISTILASI VAKUM SERTA FORMULASI SEBAGAI SEDIAAN PEMBERSIH LANTAI. Banda Aceh Fakultas MIPA Farmasi,2025

Abstract

Patchouli oil residue is a by-product resulting from the production of patchouli oil through vacuum distillation. Until now, patchouli oil residue has not been utilized and is still a waste that accumulates in the patchouli oil industry. Patchouli oil residue can still be utilized further if it still contains the remaining components of patchouli oil. This research characterizes patchouli oil residue in the form of organoleptic test, refractive index test and specific gravity test. Test of compound components using GC-MS, Purification of Fe levels using activated charcoal adsorbents, antibacterial and antifungal activity tests of purified patchouli oil residues, formulation of floor cleaning preparations and results of antibacterial and antifungal activity test preparations. The results of the characterization test stated that patchouli oil residue has the characteristics of a liquid with a slightly thick viscosity, dark brown in color, smells typical of residue with a specific gravity value of 1.04045 and a refractive index of 1.5205. The results of the chemical compound component analysis test are patchouli oil residue containing Patchouli Alcohol (57,19%), seychellene (11,09%), α-patchoulene (3,58%), naphtalene (2,71%), pogostol (2.56%), caryophyllene oxide (2,42%), β-cyperone (2,29%), α-Guaiene (1,86%), β-patchoulene (1,78%) dan cis-Z-α-Bisabolene epoxide (1,66%).The purification results of patchouli oil residue showed that the effectiveness of activated charcoal in reducing the Fe content of patchouli oil residue reached 60.7% and produced a brighter patchouli oil residue. The results of antibacterial and antifungal activity tests are that the purified patchouli oil residue has activity against Staphyloccocus aureus bacteria, Eschericia coli and Candida albicans fungi with inhibition zones of 13.28; 7.02 and 14.88 mm respectively. The results of the formulation of preparations using patchouli oil residue additives produce preparations that meet the provisions of SNI 1842 2019 concerning floor cleaners. The preparation also has antibacterial and antifungal activity on Staphyloccocus aureus, Eschericia coli and Candida albicans with inhibition zones of 15.89; 6 and 10.89 mm.
