Abstract

ABSTRACT Zahra Radhia (2024). Guidance and Counseling Services in Overcoming Student Conflicts. [Thesis of the Department of Guidance and Counseling, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Syiah Kuala University]. Under the guidance of Drs. Martunis, M. Si, and Fitra Marsela, S.Pd., M.Pd Overcoming the problem of student conflict in schools requires collaboration and various stakeholders in the school, so that the results achieved are more effective. This study aims to determine the success of Guidance and Counseling (BK) services, especially collaboration, in overcoming student conflicts at SMPN 1 Simpang Tiga. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with 7 research subjects, namely 4 homeroom teachers, 1 principal, 1 BK teacher, and 1 committee of SMPN 1 Simpang Tiga. The data collection technique was carried out through semi-structured interviews. Data analysis is carried out through the stages of data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that the success of collaboration has succeeded in creating a more harmonious school atmosphere and supporting the social-emotional development of students. This success is reflected in the reduction in the number of reported conflicts, the decrease in conflict intensity, and the change in students' attitudes to be more open, cooperative, and able to control emotions. The implementation of services includes identifying student problems, planning solution steps, implementing joint actions, and evaluating the success of services. The active involvement of all parties, well-established communication, and collective responsibility are key factors in the successful resolution of student conflict problems. Despite obstacles, such as the lack of facilities and the level of openness of students, the collaborative approach has proven to be effective in resolving student conflicts in a sustainable manner. Keywords: Collaboration, Guidance and Counseling, Student Conflict.
