Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pelaksanaan keterampilan hidup bagi anak berkebutuhan khusus (abk) di slb bukesra aceh, kecamatan ulee kareng, kota banda aceh, dalam rangka mempersiapkan mereka untuk hidup mandiri dan berinteraksi di lingkungan sosial. menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi, penelitian ini melibatkan guru, orang tua, dan siswa sebagai informan utama. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program keterampilan hidup di slb bukesra disusun berdasarkan minat dan potensi siswa, dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan kemandirian dan adaptasi sosial mereka. metode pengajaran disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan jenis ketunaan, seperti pendekatan visual untuk tunarungu dan ceramah untuk tunanetra. tantangan utama mencakup keterbatasan sumber daya, variasi kemampuan siswa, serta dukungan orang tua yang bervariasi. namun, dukungan dari lingkungan sekolah dan kerja sama antara guru dan orang tua sangat membantu meningkatkan efektivitas program. faktor keberhasilan program meliputi evaluasi yang berkelanjutan, pendekatan personal, motivasi siswa, serta kegiatan yang menarik minat mereka. secara keseluruhan, program ini memberikan dampak positif terhadap kemandirian siswa abk, dan diharapkan dapat terus dikembangkan sesuai dengan kebutuhan zaman agar mereka semakin siap menghadapi kehidupan secara mandiri. kata kunci: pelaksanaan keterampilan hidup, anak berkebutuhan khusus



Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of life skills for Children with Special Needs (ABK) in SLB BUKESRA ACEH, ULEE KARENG District, Banda Aceh City, in order to prepare them to live independently and interact in the social environment. Using qualitative methods with in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, this study involves teachers, parents, and students as the main informants. The results of the study show that the life skills program at SLB BUKESRA is structured based on students' interests and potential, with the aim of increasing their independence and social adaptation. Teaching methods are adapted to the needs of the type of deafness, such as visual approaches for the deaf and lectures for the visually impaired. The main challenges include limited resources, variations in students' abilities, and varied parental support. However, support from the school environment and cooperation between teachers and parents greatly help improve the effectiveness of the program. The success factors of the program include continuous evaluation, a personal approach, student motivation, and activities that interest them. Overall, this program has a positive impact on the independence of ABK students, and is expected to continue to be developed according to the needs of the times so that they are more prepared to face life independently.
