The biosorbtion process of lead using east (saccharomyces cereviceae, saccharomyces sp.) as the biosorber, had been performed in laboratory scale onfixed condition (ph:5.5; t:30 €; 120 rpm) with the addition of pb(no,) in the variation concentration of 0; 0.1; 1; 10; 100; 1000 ppm to the media made of yeast, peptone, and dextrose (ypd). the result showed the indication that both saccharomyces sp. and saccharomyces cerevisiae can grow well in the media with the concentration of 100 ppm. however, in concentration media of 1000 ppm, neither the saccharomyces sp. nor saccharomyces cerevisiae did notindicate such ability. during inocculation, in the media containing 100 ppm oflead, the cell wall of saccharomyces sp, appears to be able to absorb lead in theamount of 4.921 g pb/gr-dry cell and 6.052 g pb/gr-dry cell were found in itscytoplasma. while saccharomyces cereviceae during inocculation process in thesame concentration of media, was showing better performance by absorbing 5,599 ug pb/gr-dry cell and its cytoplasma capable to absorb 6.489 g pb/gr-dry cell.further result of the research concluded the better performance of saccharomyces cereviceae in the biosorbtion process of lead which contained in media, comparedto saccharomyces sp key words: lead, biosorbtion, yeast (saccharomyces cereviceae, saccharomyces sp.)
