Ringkasan hutan memiliki peran penting dalam menjaga keseimbangan dan keberlangsungan kehidupan di muka bumi. hutan berperan dalam mensuplai oksigen bagi makhluk hidup, serta penyerapan co2, menjaga keseimbangan daur biogeokimia dan siklus air, serta menjadi rumah bagi beragam flora dan fauna. vegetasi adalah suatu sistem yang terdiri dari sekelompok besar tumbuhan yang tumbuh dan mendiami suatu daerah. vegetasi juga diartikan sebagai seluruh tumbuhan dari suatu kawasan, yang merupakan suatu kawasan tipe tutupan lahan yang terdiri dari beberapa jenis, seperti herba, perdu, dan pepohonan, yang hidup bersama dalam satu tempat dan saling berinteraksi membentuk vegetasi. tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi jenis pohon, menganalisis indeks nilai penting (inp), serta menganalisis indeks keanekaragaman pohon yang terdapat di kawasan rph alue geulima taman hutan raya pocut meurah intan aceh besar. pembuatan titik pengamatan data jenis pohon pada kawasan tahura pocut meurah intan menggunakan metode purposive sampling dengan jumlah 12 titik pengamatan terdiri dari 48 quadran. pengambilan data pohon dilakukan dengan metode point center quarter. hasil penelitian ditemukan sebanyak 48 individu yang terdiri dari 5 famili dan 6 jenis pohon. hasil analisis vegetasi pohon menunjukkan inp tertinggi adalah pinus (pinus merkusi jungh) dengan total nilai 141,4. tingkat keanekaragaman jenis termasuk ke dalam kategori sedang dengan nilai 1,44. kata kunci : tahura pocut meurah intan, pohon, analisis vegetasi

ABSTRACT Forests play a crucial role in maintaining the balance and sustainability of life on Earth. They supply oxygen, absorb CO₂, regulate biogeochemical cycles and the water cycle, and serve as habitats for diverse flora and fauna. Vegetation is a system consisting of a large group of plants that grow and inhabit a specific area. It is also defined as all plants within a region, forming a land cover type that includes various species such as herbs, shrubs, and trees, living together and interacting to form the vegetation. The aim of this study is to identify tree species, analyze the Important Value Index (IVI), and assess the tree diversity index in the Alue Geulima Forest Management Resort area within the Pocut Meurah Intan Grand Forest Park, Aceh Besar. The observation points for tree species data were established using purposive sampling, with 12 observation points consisting of 48 quadrants. Tree data collection was conducted using the point center quarter method. The research found 48 individuals from 5 families and 6 tree species. The tree vegetation analysis revealed that the species with the highest IVI was Pinus merkusii Jungh with a total value of 141.4.
