Nasywa muyassirati.

Abstract
Nasywa Muyassirati. (2024). The Relationship Between Locus of Control and Problem-Focused Coping with Geography Learning Outcomes of IPS Students at MAS Oemar Diyan. [Thesis. Universitas Syiah Kuala]. Supervised by Drs. Abdul Wahab Abdi, M.Si., and Dr. M. Hafizul Furqan, S.Pd., M.Pd. Learning outcomes are influenced by many complex and interrelated factors. Two factors that can affect learning outcomes are Locus of Control and Problem-Focused Coping. Locus of Control is a person's belief about the extent to which they have control over events in their life. Individuals with an internal LOC tend to believe that they have control over their own destiny, while individuals with an external LOC tend to believe that events in their lives are controlled by external forces such as luck or fate. Problem-Focused Coping is a strategy employed by individuals to address problems with a focus on finding solutions. Students who have organized their study are expected to direct themselves to have the belief that they have the power to influence the conditions that occur to them. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between Locus of Control and Problem-Focused Coping with the geography learning outcomes of IPS students at MAS Oemar Diyan. This research uses a quantitative method with a correlational research type. The research population consists of 83 students with a purposive sampling technique amounting to 27 students from IPS MAS Oemar Diyan. The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship between locus of control and problem-focused coping with the geography learning outcomes of IPS students at MAS Oemar Diyan. This is seen from the calculation of multiple correlations which yielded a correlation coefficient of 0.494, indicating that the level of relationship between Locus of Control and Problem-Focused Coping with learning outcomes is in the moderate category. Based on the calculation of the multiple coefficient of determination, the result is 24.4%. This means that 24.4% of student learning outcomes are influenced by the variables of Locus of Control and Problem-Focused Coping, while the remaining 75.6% is influenced by other factors or variables not included in this study. Keywords: Locus of Control, Problem-Focused Coping, Learning Outcomes.
