Pencernaan pada unggas merupakan proses pengolahan pakan yang mulai di bagian mulut hingga ke kloaka, dan bertanggung jawab atas pengeluaran bahan-bahan makanan yang tidak diserap atau tidak dibutuhkan oleh tubuh. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan sebaran ekspresi α-sma dan ketebalan tunika muskularis pada proventrikulus dan ventrikulus ayam kampung dan itik muskovi. penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksploratif dengan sampel proventrikulus dan ventrikulus dari ayam kampung dan itik muskovi masing-masing sebanyak tiga ekor, jenis kelamin jantan dan telah dewasa (umur di atas 5 bulan). koleksi organ sampel dilakukan setelah ayam dan itik disembelih, lalu diproses menjadi preparat histologi dan dilakukan pewarnaan imunohistokimia menggunakan antibodi α-sma. sebaran α-sma dianalisis secara deskriptif dan disajikan dalam bentuk gambar histologi. ekspresi α-sma dinilai dengan metode intensity score (is) dan uji mann whitney u test. data ketebalan tunika muskularis dianalisis menggunakan uji independent t test. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekspresi α-sma pada proventrikulus ayam kampung tepatnya pada tunika muskularis, lebih tinggi dibandingkan itik muskovi (p

Digestion in poultry is the process of processing food starting from the mouth to the cloaca, and is responsible for removing food ingredients that are not absorbed or not needed by the body. This study aims to determine differences in the distribution of -SMA expression and thickness of the tunica muscularis in the proventriculus and ventriculus of local chickens and muscovy ducks. This research was an exploratory study with three proventriculus and ventriculus samples from local chickens and muscovy ducks each, male and mature (over 5 months old). Organ samples were collected after the chickens and ducks were slaughtered, then processed into histology preparations and immunohistochemical staining was carried out using the α-SMA antibody. The distribution of α-SMA was analyzed descriptively and presented in the form of histology images. α-SMA expression was assessed using the intensity score (IS) method and the Mann Whitney U test. Data on the thickness of the tunica muscularis were analyzed using the independent T test.
