Pesatnya perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi (iptek) membuat negara berlomba-lomba dalam melakukan inovasi teknologi. namun kemajuan iptek tidak cukup hanya dilakukan oleh pemerintah terkait, masyarakat juga harus ikut andil dalam perkembangannya. oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan fasilitas yang dapat mendukung perkembangan iptek seperti science center. science center adalah sebuah institusi dengan misi untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan minat masyarakat terhadap ilmu pengetahuan dengan peningkatan kualitas pameran, program publik serta pemasaran ilmu pengetahuan (falk & needham, 2011). pemerintah melalui kementerian pendidikan, kebudayaan, riset dan teknologi mendorong setiap daerah untuk memiliki science center guna mencerdaskan bangsa. kota banda aceh sebagai pusat pendidikan di aceh idealnya memiliki fasilitas pendukung iptek sehingga dapat menjadi contoh bagi daerah lainnya serta menjadikan kota ini memiliki peradaban yang tinggi. laporan ini bertujuan untuk merancang sebuah science center di banda aceh menggunakan pendekatan green building berupa prinsip tata guna lahan, efisiensi energi dan konservasi air. pendekatan ini diambil supaya dapat memperlihatkan bukti nyata dari perkembangan iptek dalam bidang arsitektur kepada masyarakat umum. laporan ini disusun menggunakan metode analisis yang didukung oleh beberapa hasil observasi dan literatur. berdasarkan hasil analisis perancangan, maka science center ini akan dirancang dengan menerapkan sistem passive design, rain dan grey water harvesting, penggunaan photovoltaic serta beberapa sistem penunjang lainnya. kata kunci: science center, iptek, green building, efisiensi energi, tata guna lahan, water harvesting

The rapid development of science and technology (science and technology) makes countries compete in carrying out technological innovation. However, it is not enough for the relevant government to make progress in science and technology, the community must also take part in its development. Therefore, facilities are needed that can support the development of science and technology, such as science center. Science center is an institution with a mission to increase public awareness and interest in science by improving the quality of exhibitions, public programs and science marketing (Falk & Needham, 2011). The government through the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology encourages every region to have one science center to educate the nation. The city of Banda Aceh as the center of education in Aceh ideally has science and technology supporting facilities so that it can be an example for other regions and make this city have a high level of civilization. This report aims to design a science center in Banda Aceh using the approach green building in the form of principles of land use, energy efficiency and water conservation. This approach was taken in order to show real evidence of the development of science and technology in the field of architecture to the general public. This report was prepared using an analytical method supported by several observation results and literature. Based on the results of the design analysis, then science center This will be designed by implementing the system passive design, rain dan grey water harvesting, use photovoltaic as well as several other supporting systems.
