Cut Nanda Sabila, UJI SEROLOGIS INFECTIOUS BOVINE RHINOTRACHEITIS (IBR) PADA TERNAK SAPI ACEH (BOS INDICUS) DI UPTD IBI SAREE. Banda Aceh Fakultas Kedokteran Hewan (S1),2024

Abstract

Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis (IBR) is an infectious disease of cattle caused by Bovine Herpesvirus-1 (BHV-1). IBR in cattle is worldwide, highly infectious and causes respiratory, neurological and reproductive disorders leading to abortion and death in calves. IBR has morbidity ranging from 30-90%, mortality of less than 3% and is generally subclinical, also causing latent infection, so antibody detection is needed to determine the health status of animals. This study aims to determine whether or not there are cattle infected with Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis (IBR) at UPTD IBI Saree. Serum samples came from 20 female cows at UPTD IBI Saree that were of productive age in cows that had experienced abortion, had shown symptoms, or had never shown symptoms. Samples were examined at the Veterinary Laboratory of the Aceh Animal Health and Livestock Services. Samples were tested by Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) serological assay. The results of antibody ELISA testing showed that 95% were seropositive and 5% were seronegative. The conclusion of this study is that 95% of serum samples from Aceh cattle in UPTD IBI Saree were detected with BHV-1 virus that causes IBR disease based on ELISA serological test results.
