Abstract
Newcastle Disease (ND) is a viral disease that often attacks chickens, both on community farms and commercial farms. This study aims to evaluate ND virus antibody titers in post-vaccination broiler chickens at the Teaching Farm of Syiah Kuala University. Chicken blood was collected from 100 samples from a total population of 4,000 chickens in open house cages at the age of 23 days. Evaluation of antibody titers is carried out in 3 stages, namely the haemagglutination assay (HA), back titration, and haemagglutination inhibition (HI) test. The antibody titer in broiler chickens is said to be positive if it is at a titer of 1:16 or log 24. The research results showed that 9% of serum samples had protective antibody titers, while 91% of samples showed non-protective antibody titers. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the broiler chickens at the Teaching Farm of Syiah Kuala University do not have protective titers against the ND virus. Key words: Back titration, haemagglutination assay, haemagglutination inhibition, protective
