Kantong semar (nepenthes spp.) merupakan salah satu tumbuhan yang unik dan khas. keunikan dan kekhasan tersebut ditemui pada keberadaan kantong yang merupakan modifikasi dari bagian ujung daunnya, sehingga tumbuhan ini disebut dengan pitcher plant atau insectivorous species. nepenthes termasuk ke dalam famili nepenthaceae yang monogerik, yaitu famili yang hanya memiliki satu genus. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis kantong semar (nepenthes spp.) dan persebarannya di stasiun penelitian suaq balimbing kawasan taman nasional gunung leuser. metode penelitian yang digunakan yakni metode jelajah. parameter yang diamati pada penelitian ini yaitu jenis tumbuhan kantong semar yang ditemukan dalam jalur pengamatan dan titik koordinat setiap ditemukan keberadaan tumbuhan kantong semar. hasil penelitian yang diperoleh yaitu didapatkannya enam jenis kantong semar yakni nepenthes ampullaria, nepenthes rafflesiana, nepenthes densiflora, nepenthes gracilis, nepenthes mirabilis dan nepenthes tobaica. persebaran jenis kantong semar yang ditemukan di sp suaq balimbing secara keseluruhan sebanyak 188 titik koordinat. kata kunci : nepenthes, sebaran jenis, suaq balimbing

The pitcher plants (Nepenthes spp.) is a unique and distinctive plant. This uniqueness and peculiarity is found in the presence of pockets which are a modification of the tips of the leaves, so this plant is called the pitcher plant or insectivorous species. Nepenthes belongs to the monogeric Nepenthaceae family, which is a family that only has one genus. This research aims to determine the type of pitcher plants (Nepenthes spp.) and its distribution at the Suaq Balimbing Research Station in the Gunung Leuser National Park area. The research method used is the exploration method. The parameters observed in this research are the types of pitcher plants found on the observation route and the coordinate points for each pitcher plants found. The research results obtained were that there were six types of pitcher plants, namely Nepenthes ampullaria, Nepenthes rafflesiana, Nepenthes densiflora, Nepenthes gracilis, Nepenthes mirabilis and Nepenthes tobaica. The distribution of types of pitcher plants found in Suaq Balimbing research station was a total 188 coordinate points. Keywords : Nepenthes, Species Distribution, Suaq Balimbing
