Abstrak prolapsus rektum adalah kondisi di mana sebagian atau seluruh rektum keluar dari sfingter anal eksternal. secara klinis, prolapsus rektum ditandai dengan adanya massa berbentuk silinder berwarna merah muda yang keluar dari anus. tujuan dari penulisan ini adalah untuk mengetahui penanganan dan perawatan kasus prolapsus rektum pada kucing persia. pemeriksaan fisik menunjukkan pada bagian rektum yang mengalami prolapsus kelihatan merah dan bengkak. kucing tersebut merupakan ras persia berusia 3 tahun dengan riwayat konstipasi dan prolapsus rektum yang berulang. setelah dilakukan pemeriksaan fisik, dokter hewan menyimpulkan bahwa pasien mengalami prolapsus rektum. berdasarkan pertimbangan, dokter hewan memutuskan untuk melakukan prosedur colopexy. colopexy adalah prosedur bedah yang bertujuan mengatasi prolapsus rektum yang berulang, di mana usus besar ditempelkan pada dinding perut. teknik colopexy sering digunakan pada anjing dan kucing. terdapat tiga teknik bedah yang dirancang untuk menangani prolapsus rektum, yaitu jahitan purse-string perianal, colopexy, dan reseksi rektal. perawatan pasca operasi, kucing ditempatkan di kandang yang bersih dan kering, dan luka operasi dibersihkan secara rutin untuk mencegah infeksi. kata kunci: prosalus rectum, kucing persia, colopexy,

ABSTRACT Rectal prolapse is a condition in which part or all of the rectum protrudes from the external anal sphincter. Clinically, rectal prolapsus is characterized by the presence of a pinkish cylindrical mass coming out of the anus. The purpose of this paper is to determine the management and treatment of a case of rectal prolapsus in a Persian cat. Physical examination showed that the prolapsed rectum was red and swollen. The cat was a 3-year-old Persian with a history of constipation and recurrent rectal prolapse. After physical examination, the veterinarian concluded that the patient had rectal prolapse. Based on consideration, the veterinarian decided to perform a colopexy procedure. Colopexy is a surgical procedure to treat recurrent rectal prolapse, where the colon is attached to the abdominal wall. The colopexy technique is often used on dogs and cats. There are three surgical techniques designed to treat rectal prolapse: perianal purse-string suture, colopexy, and rectal resection. Post-operative care, the cat is placed in a clean and dry kennel, and the surgical wound is cleaned regularly to prevent infection. Key words: Prosalus rectum, Persin Cat, Colopexy
