Apriana, UJI KONSENTRASI EKSTRAK DAUN GAMAL (GLIRICIDIA SEPIUM) TERHADAP SPODOPTERA FRUGIPERDA (LEPIDOPTERA:NOCTUIDAE) DI LABORATORIUM. Banda Aceh Fakultas Pertanian Proteksi Tanaman,2024

Abstract

The gamal plant (Gliricidia sepium) is a shrub plant and belongs to the leguminose group, this plant has the potential to be a plant pesticide, plant support, animal feed and also as an insecticide. The purpose of this study was to study the effective concentration of gamal leaf extract (G. sepium) as a plant-based insecticide against S. frugiperda insects. This research was carried out at the Plant Pest Laboratory, Food and Agricultural Products Analysis Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University from June 2023 to December 2023. This study used a non-Factorial Complete Randomized Design (RAL) consisting of 5 different treatments and controls from the treatment and 4 replicates, so that 24 experimental units were obtained. The observed variables included larval mortality, percentage of antifeedants (feeding inhibitors), percentage of pupa formed, percentage of imago emerged. The results showed that the application of gamal leaf extract had an effect on larval mortality, feeding inhibitors, percentage of pupa formed and percentage of imago S. frugiperda that appeared. The application of gamal extract at a concentration of 5% resulted in a mortality of 80% at 6 days after application, while the lowest mortality at a concentration of 1% was 35% at the observation of 6 HSAs. The highest percentage of eating inhibitors at a concentration of 5% was 84.48%, while the lowest at a concentration of 2% was 68.13% at the observation of 6 HSAs. The percentage of pupa formed was highest at K1 concentration of 65% and the lowest at K5 observation of 7.50%. The highest percentage of imago that appeared at the concentration of 1% was 60%, while the lowest percentage at the concentration of 5% was 7.50%. Based on the data mentioned above, it can be concluded that gamal extract has the potential to be a plant-based pesticide in controlling S. frugiperda pests with both insecticide, antifeedant and inhibiting insect growth.
