Indah Paridah, KARAKTER REPRODUKSI IKAN PERES (OSTEOCHILUS VITTATUS) DI HULU DAS PEUSANGAN, KABUPATEN ACEH TENGAH.

Abstract

Peres fish (Osteochillus vittatus) is one of the dominant fish in Lake Laut Tawar and the Upper Peusangan River, Central Aceh. However, the population is decreasing due to overfishing and environmental damage. This research aims to analyze the reproductive characteristics of peres fish (O.vittatus), including the sexual characteristics of the fish and reproductive aspects as well as growth patterns of peres fish in the upper reaches of the Peusangan Watershed. The research was conducted from July 2023 to January 2024 in the Upper Peusangan Watershed. Analysis of peres fish was carried out at the Fish Health Laboratory, Fisheries Agency of Central Aceh and observation of egg samples was carried out at the Genetics and Aquatic Biodiversity Laboratory, Faculty of Marine and Fisheries, Syiah Kuala University. The method used in taking fish samples is the random sampling method, namely taking the catch from fishermen directly to the location. Pressed fish of the same size have differences between male and female fish. Female peres fish have wider heads than male fish. Male peres fish have an anal fin base compared to female peres fish. The sex ratio data obtained between males and females is 1:1 and is balanced. Gonad Maturity Level (TKG) was dominated by TKG III with 14 individuals, TKG IV with 85 individuals. The results of analysis of the Gonad Maturity Index (IKG) of peres fish from a total of 121 fish observed showed that the IKG value of female fish had an average value of 19,02%, while the IKG value of males had an average value of 14,04%. The peres fish which had the highest fecundity value was found in TKG IV fish with a total length of 165,53 mm with a weight of 71,47 grams, totaling 26.257 eggs with a gonad weight of 24,2 grams. The lowest fecundity value was found in fish with a total length of 151,65 mm and a weight of 49 grams with 2.558 eggs with a gonad weight of 4,36 grams. The results showed that the growth pattern of peres fish was isometric (b>3) with a value of b=3,0404. Keywords: Tawar Sea Lake, gonad maturity, Ostechillus, growth
