Mahasiswa politeknik negeri lhokseumawe lebih cenderung menggunakan moda transportasi angkutan pribadi dibandingkan angkutan umum. kecenderungan tersebut telah berkontribusi terhadap munculnya kemacetan lalu lintas pada jalan raya dan munculnya polusi. bila mahasiswa mempunyai kecenderungan untuk menggunakan angkutan umum, maka kemacetan lalu lintas pada jalan raya dan polusi dapat dikurangi. penelitian ini terdapat 3 tujuan utama. tujuan pertama mengetahui faktor–faktor yang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap pemilihan moda transportasi mahasiswa menuju politeknik negeri lhokseumawe. tujuan kedua mengetahui karakteristik srp yang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap pemilihan moda transportasi mahasiswa menuju politeknik negeri lhokseumawe. tujuan ketiga mengetahui peluang mahasiswa dalam pemilihan moda transportasi menuju politeknik negeri lhokseumawe untuk angkutan pribadi dan umum. penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan metode kuantitatif melalui kuesioner sebanyak 400 mahasiswa dengan teknik stratified random sampling. variabel bebas yang ditinjau adalah karakteristik pengguna moda, karakteristik perjalanan, karakteristik moda transportasi, karakteristik zona, dan karakteristik srp. variabel terikat yang ditinjau adalah pemilihan moda transportasi. analisis data digunakan statistik deskriptif dan regresi logit biner nisbah. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor–faktor yang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap pemilihan moda transportasi mahasiswa menuju politeknik negeri lhokseumawe adalah faktor mengendarai moda dengan nilai sig. sebesar 0,000, faktor biaya transportasi dengan nilai sig. sebesar 0,042, dan faktor waktu berjalan kaki dari ruang parkir ke ruang belajar dengan nilai sig. sebesar 0,022. karakteristik srp yang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap pemilihan moda transportasi mahasiswa menuju politeknik negeri lhokseumawe adalah faktor waktu berjalan kaki dari ruang parkir ke ruang belajar dengan koefisien regresi sebesar -1,141 dan nilai sig. sebesar 0,022. peluang mahasiswa dalam pemilihan moda transportasi menuju politeknik negeri lhokseumawe untuk angkutan pribadi sebesar 96,91% dan untuk angkutan umum sebesar 3,09%.

Students at Politeknik Negeri Lhokseumawe tend to use private transportation modes rather than public transportation. This tendency has contributed to traffic congestion on highways and increased pollution. If students were inclined to use public transportation, traffic congestion and pollution could be reduced. This study has three main objectives. The first objective is to identify the factors that significantly influence students' choice of transportation modes to Politeknik Negeri Lhokseumawe. The second objective is to determine the significant characteristics of the parking facilities (SRP) that affect students' choice of transportation modes to Politeknik Negeri Lhokseumawe. The third objective is to assess the likelihood of students choosing private and public transportation modes to Politeknik Negeri Lhokseumawe. This study uses a quantitative method approach with a questionnaire distributed to 400 students using stratified random sampling technique. The independent variables reviewed are user characteristics, travel characteristics, transportation mode characteristics, zone characteristics, and parking facility characteristics. The dependent variable reviewed is the choice of transportation mode. Data analysis uses descriptive statistics and binary logistic regression. The results show that the factors significantly influencing students' choice of transportation modes to Politeknik Negeri Lhokseumawe are the mode driving factor with a Sig. value of 0.000, the transportation cost factor with a Sig. value of 0.042, and the walking time from the parking area to the classroom factor with a Sig. value of 0.022. The significant characteristic of the parking facilities affecting students' choice of transportation modes to Politeknik Negeri Lhokseumawe is the walking time from the parking area to the classroom with a regression coefficient of -1.141 and a Sig. value of 0.022. The likelihood of students choosing private transportation to Politeknik Negeri Lhokseumawe is 96.91% and for public transportation is 3.09%.
