[skripsi. universitas syiah kuala]. dibawah bimbingan drs, zakaria, m.ed., dan dr. nazaruddin, se., m.ed. pendidikan sangat dibutuhkan oleh setiap orang di kemukiman pasie fenomena yang menarik yang dapat peneliti angkat di kemukiman pasie kecamatan samatiga, kabupaten aceh barat terdapat 12 anak putus sekolah. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor penyebab anak putus sekolah di kemukiman pasie kecamatan samatiga, dan juga mengetahui dampak-dampak anak putus sekolah, dan bagaimana cara menangani anak putus sekolah di kemukiman pasie kecamatan samatiga. penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. subjek pada penelitian ini berjumlah 17 orang, 12 orang anak putus sekolah, 2 orang tua anak putus sekolah, 2 orang dinas terkait 1orang tokoh pendidikan di kemukiman pasie. objek dalam penelitian ini adalah faktor-faktor penyebab anak putus sekolah di kemukiman pasie. pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan penelitian kepustakaan dan penelitian lapangan. penelitian lapangan meliputi observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. teknik analisis data yaitu pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor penyebab anak putus sekolah. 1) faktor ekonomi orang tua menjadi pendorong utama tingginya tingkat anak putus sekolah, di mana keterbatasan pendapatan keluarga petani karet dan nelayan menghambat akses mereka terhadap pendidikan formal. 2) kurangnya perhatian orang tua terhadap pendidikan anak, meskipun diakui sebagai faktor utama, tidak selalu sejalan dengan dorongan yang kuat untuk melanjutkan pendidikan formal. 3) meskipun fasilitas belajar mengalami peningkatan, tantangan internal seperti faktor keluarga dan minat siswa tetap menjadi fokus penting dalam memahami fenomena anak putus sekolah. 4) motivasi dan minat anak-anak terhadap pendidikan sangat penting, di mana kurangnya motivasi internal untuk bersekolah menjadi tantangan utama, sementara minat terhadap pekerjaan lebih dominan.5) faktor budaya tidak tampak signifikan dalam keputusan anak-anak untuk putus sekolah di mukim pasie, kecamatan samatiga. 6) faktor lokasi jarak ke sekolah kendala nyata, di mana beberapa anak tidak masuk sekolah karena keterbatasan transportasi dan jarak yang cukup jauh. faktor lainya yang peneliti dapatkan adalah faktor kesehatan diri anak tersebut dimana ada anak di kemukiman pasie putus sekolah karena kesehatan drop pada diri anak tersebut. dampak dari anak putus sekolah meningkatnya kejahatan di lingkungannya seperti kejahatan sosial,kenakalan remaja, penyalahgunaan narkoba dan pencurian dan juga dampak bagi anak putus sekolah tersebut sulit mendapat pekerjaan, dan pengangguran. cara menangani anak putus sekolah di kemukiman pasie membuka pendidikan non formal dan fokus pada pelatihan ketrampilan. kata kunci : faktor penyebab anak putus sekolah, dampak anak putus sekolah, cara menanganinya.

ABSTRACT Rofi Tri Guswandi. (2024). Factors causing children to drop out of school in Pasie settlement, Samatiga sub-district. [Thesis. Syiah Kuala University]. Under the guidance of Drs. Zakaria, M.Ed., and Dr. Nazaruddin, SE, M.Ed. Education is needed by everyone in the settlement of Pasie, which is an interesting phenomenon that researcher can investigate in the settlement of Pasie, Samatiga sub-district, West Aceh regency, there are 12 children dropping out of school. This research aims to determine the factors that cause children to drop out of school in the Pasie settlement of Samatiga sub-district. And also knowing the impacts of dropping out of school and how to deal with dropping out of school. This research is a Qualitative with descriptive research type. The subjects in this research amounted to 17 people, 12 dropouts, 2 parents of dropouts, 2 related agencies 1 educational figure in the Pasie settlement. The object of this research is the factors that cause children to drop out of school in Pasie settlement. Data collection is done by library research and field research. Field research includes observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques are data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results showed that several factors contribute to children dropping out of school: 1) the economic factor of parents is the main driver of the high dropout rate, particularly those working as rubber farmers and fishermen, hinder their ability to afford formal education for their children; 2) parental neglect of their children's education, despite being recognized as a major factor, does not consistently lead to a strong motivation to continue formal education; 3) improvements have been made to learning facilities, internal challenges such as family dynamics and student motivation remain significant in understanding the dropout phenomenon; 4) children's lack of motivation and interest in education are critical, with internal motivation to attend school being a major challenge, while interest in employment often takes precedence; 5) cultural factors do not appear to significantly influence children's decision to drop out of school in the settlement of Pasie, Samatiga sub-district; 6) the distance to school poses a real obstacle, as some children are unable to attend school due to transportation limitations and considerable distance.The other factor that the child’s personal health factor, where there were children in residential areas who dropped out of school because the child’s health was failing. The impact of children dropping out of school is the increase in crime in the neighborhood such as social crime, juvenile delinquency, drug abuse and theft and also the impact on dropouts is difficult to get a job, and unemployment. How to deal with school dropouts in the Pasie settlement involves opening non-formal education and focusing on training their skills.
