Abstract

Pre and post-conferences can develop effective strategies for providing nursing care and enhance nurses' critical thinking abilities to plan nursing service activities appropriately and efficiently. Pre and post-conferences are crucial in preventing errors in health services between nurses and improving patient safety. The objective of this study is to determine the implementation of pre-post conferences at Rumah Sakit Pendidikan Universitas Syiah Kuala. This type of research involves a quantitative study that uses cross-sectional studies. The pre-post conference observations were conducted 15 times in a row, for five days, on each shift schedule. A total of 19 nurses were involved in carrying out pre-post conference observations. The data collection tool that was utilized was an observation sheet. The result of the observation describes that the implementation of pre and post-conferences has been partially implemented (100%). The author suggests that hospitals update their knowledge through regular training, seminars, or workshops to improve the implementation of pre- and post-conference care
