Kemampuan literasi matematis siswa indonesia masih tergolong sangat rendah. hal ini berdasarkan hasil survei pisa yang menunjukkan bahwa indonesia menduduki peringkat 73 dari 79 negara. oecd berpendapat bahwa rendahnya kemampuan literasi matematis disebabkan siswa kesulitan dalam memahami persoalan yang diberikan juga konteks yang tidak dapat ia bayangkan, hal lainnya juga dikarenakan masih terbatas soal yang diberikan untuk melatih kemampuan literasi matematis. oleh karena itu, diperlukan suatu alternatif yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan literasi matematis siswa yaitu melalui penerapan rme dengan konteks kemaritiman. tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan literasi matematis siswa melalui penerapan rme dengan konteks kemaritiman di kelas vii smp negeri 2 banda aceh. penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain yang digunakan yaitu pre-experimental dengan jenis one group pretest-posttest. populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas vii smp negeri 2 banda aceh dan sampel seluruh siswa kelas vii-9 yang terdiri dari 27 siswa. instrumen penelitian berupa 4 butir soal setara akm. uji hipotesis dilakukan dengan uji t berpasangan. berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa penerapan rme dengan konteks kemaritiman dapat meningkatkan kemampuan literasi matematis siswa kelas vii smp negeri 2 banda aceh. hal ini terlihat pada hasil uji hipotesis dengan taraf signifikansi α=0,05 dan dk=26 diperoleh t_hitung>t_tabel atau 25,99>2,05 maka h_0 ditolak dan terima h_1

Indonesian students' mathematical literacy skills are still very low. This is based on the results of the PISA survey which shows that Indonesia is ranked 73 out of 79 countries. OECD argues that the low mathematical literacy skills are due to students' difficulty in understanding the problems given as well as the context that they cannot imagine, another thing is also due to the limited questions given to train mathematical literacy skills. Therefore, an alternative is needed that can improve students' mathematical literacy skills, namely through the application of RME with a maritime context. The purpose of this study was to determine the improvement of students' mathematical literacy skills through the application of RME with maritime context in class VII SMP Negeri 2 Banda Aceh. This research is a quantitative research with the design used is pre-experimental with the type of one group pretest-posttest. The population of this study were all seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Banda Aceh and the sample was all students of class VII-9 consisting of 27 students. The research instrument was in the form of 4 items of AKM equivalent questions. Hypothesis testing was done with paired T test. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the application of RME with maritime context can improve the mathematical literacy skills of seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Banda Aceh. This can be seen in the results of hypothesis testing with a significance level of α = 0.05 and dk = 26 obtained t_count>t_table or 25.99>2,05 so H0 rejected and H1 accepted
