Penelitian yang berjudul “kemampuan bermain piano melalui sight reading di program studi pendidikan seni drama tari dan musik universitas syiah kuala”. rumusan masalah penelitian ini adalah “apakah terdapat peningkatan kemampuan bermain piano melalui sight reading di program studi pendidikan seni drama tari dan musik”. tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan peningkatan kemampuan bermain piano melalui sight reading di program studi pendidikan seni drama tari dan musik universitas syiah kuala. penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan metode penelitian kombinasi (mixed methods) dengan jenis penelitian eksperimen. sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 4 mahasiswa. teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah teknik observasi, tes dan dokumentasi. data yang di peroleh sebelum dan sesudah penerapan metode sight reading dengan menggunakan analisis data statistik deskriptif dengan bantuan aplikasi spss. hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa adanya peningkatan kemampuan bermain piano melalui latihan sight reading di program studi pendidikan seni drama tari dan musik universitas syiah kuala. hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari hasil observasi dan tes. tahapan yang dilakukan pada proses pelaksanaan tindakan penelitian yaitu ada 10 tahapan diantaranya: observasi, materi, pre-test, latihan 1, latihan 2, latihan 3, tes pertengahan, latihan 4, latihan 5, post-test. bedasarkan nilai statistik uji normalitas di ketahui bahwa nilai tidak signifikan (sig) pada uji shapiro-wilk untuk data pre-test dan post-test 0,05. maka dapat dimyatakan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada mahasiswa sebelum diberikan perlakuan dan setelah diberikan perlakuan. kata kunci: sight reading, piano, pre-test, post-test



Abstract

Research entitled "The Ability to Play the Piano Through Sight Reading in the Dance and Music Arts Education Study Program at Syiah Kuala University". The formulation of the research problem is "Is there an increase in the ability to play the piano through Sight Reading in the Dance and Music Arts Education Study Program". The purpose of this research is to determine and describe the improvement in piano playing ability through sight reading in the Dance and Music Arts Education Study Program at Syiah Kuala University. This research uses a combined research method approach (Mixed Methods) with an experimental research type. The sample used in this research consisted of 4 students. The data collection techniques used in this research are observation, test and documentation techniques. Data obtained before and after applying the sight reading method using descriptive statistical data analysis with the help of the SPSS application. The results of the research show that there is an increase in the ability to play the piano through sight reading training in the Dance and Music Arts Education Study Program at Syiah Kuala University. This can be seen from the results of observations and tests. There are 10 stages carried out in the process of implementing research actions, including: observation, material, pre-test, exercise 1, exercise 2, exercise 3, mid-test, exercise 4, exercise 5, post-test. Based on the statistical value of the normality test, it is known that the value is not significant (Sig) in the Shapiro-Wilk test for pre-test and post-test data 0.05. So it can be stated that there are significant differences in students before being given treatment and after being given treatment. Key words: sight reading, piano, pre-test, post-test
