Periodontitis adalah proses inflamasi yang terjadi pada gingiva, ligamen periodontal, sementum, dan tulang alveolar. sediaan gel lidah buaya (aloe vera) mengandung saponin, flavonoid, fenol, tanin, alkaloid, dan steroid. tanaman lidah buaya juga mengandung acemannan, aloe emodin, vitamin (b1, b2, b6, b12, dan c) dan sejumlah mineral seperti kalsium, klorin, kromium, tembaga, besi, magnesium, mangan, kalium, fosfor, natrium, dan seng. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh sediaan gel lidah buaya terhadap tulang alveolar secara radiografi dan struktur mikroskopis tulang alveolar tikus wistar yang diinduksi periodontitis. induksi periodontitis dilakukan selama 14 hari dengan pemasangan wire ligature 0,008 inci pada area servikal molar satu maksila. jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimental laboratoris secara in vivo dibagi menjadi empat kelompok yaitu kelompok observasi, kelompok kontrol negatif (pemberiaan basis gel), kelompok kontrol positif (pemberian gel metronidazole), dan kelompok perlakuan (pemberian sediaan gel lidah buaya). perawatan dilakukan dengan mengaplikasikan, basis gel, gel metronidazole, sediaan gel lidah buaya di pagi dan sore hari selama 14 hari. hasil analisis one way anova menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang bermakna terhadap kepadatan tulang alveolar dengan p=0,000 (p=

The Aloe vera plant also contains acemannan, aloe emodin, vitamins (B1, B2, B6, B12, and C), and several minerals such as calcium, chlorine, chromium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, potassium, phosphorus, sodium, and zinc. This study aims to determine the effect of Aloe vera gel preparations on the alveolar bone radiographically and the microscopic structure of the alveolar bone of Wistar rats induced by periodontitis. Periodontitis induction was carried out for 14 days with the installation of a 0.008-inch wire ligature in the cervical area of the maxillary first molar.
