akmal nur alam, HUBUNGAN ANTARA PERUBAHAN MECHANICAL AXIS ANGLE TERHADAP QUALITY OF LIFE PADA PASIEN OSTEOARTHRITIS YANG TELAH MENJALANI OPERASI TOTAL KNEE REPLACEMENT DI RSUD DR ZAINOEL ABIDIN. Banda Aceh Fakultas Kedokteran (S1),2023

Abstract

Osteoarthritis is a chronic, progressive and degenerative musculoskeletal disease. To diagnose OA, genu x-rays are required in a standing position. Mechanical Axis Angle is one of the measurements to assess the alignment of the patient's lower extremities. Non-surgical treatment for OA is NSAIDs which, if used continuously in patients, especially the elderly, will worsen their quality of life. Surgical therapy for OA is Total Knee Replacement which has a reported success rate of up to 90%. This study aims to assess whether there is a relationship between changes in MAA and Quality of Life in OA patients who have undergone TKR surgery at RSUD Dr. Zainoel Abidin. This type of research is observational analytic with a cross-sectional method. The sampling technique in this research is Total Sampling. The sample for this study were patients diagnosed with OA who had undergone TKR surgery at RSUDZA in 2021-2022. The data taken includes demographic data and imaging examination results, then presented in the form of a frequency distribution table. The results of the research were 30 subjects, with the largest gender being female (66.7%), with the largest age being late elderly (> 56 years), namely (76.67%). Based on Mechanical Axis Angle measurements, genu Varus is more dominant (53.33%) than genu valgus (26.67%). The research results related to changes in MAA were 2 and 3 degrees (13.33%), based on the correlation coefficient value, it was found that the correlation coefficient was 0.368, meaning that the close relationship between changes in the Mechanical Axis Angle radiological image and the patient's Quality of Life was classified as a weak relationship.
