Waduk krueng neng merupakan salah satu perairan dengan aktivitas tinggi yang berpotensi mencemari perairan, mulai dari aktivitas pariwisata, aktivitas memancing dan aktivitas rumah tangga yang berasal dari sekitar waduk. aktivitas tinggi di waduk krueng neng dapat menyebabkan pencemaran sampah di waduk, salah satunya sampah plastik. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi jenis dan kelimpahan mikroplastik yang terdapat pada sedimen di waduk krueng neng, kecamatan meuraxa, kota banda aceh. penelitian dilakukan pada bulan juni 2023 dengan metode purposive sampling pada 4 stasiun yang berbeda. parameter yang diamati adalah jenis dan kelimpahan mikroplastik pada sedimen. data jenis mikroplastik dianalisis secara deskriptif dan data kelimpahan mikroplastik dianalisis dengan rumus kelimpahan pada sedimen. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada sedimen di waduk krueng neng ditemukan 4 jenis mikroplastik yaitu fragmen, fiber, film, dan pellet. kelimpahan total mikroplastik tertinggi ditemukan pada stasiun ke-4 yaitu sebesar 87,8 partikel/kg sedimen kering, diikuti stasiun ke-1 sebesar 76,7 partikel/kg, stasiun ke-2 sebesar 62,2 partikel/kg, dan kelimpahan mikroplastik terendah ditemukan pada stasiun ke-3 sebesar 51,1 partikel/kg sedimen kering. sehingga penelitian ini didapatkan 4 jenis mikroplastik yang berbeda pada waduk krueng neng yaitu fragmen, fiber, film, dan pellet serta kelimpahan mikroplastik berkisar antara 51,1-87,8 partikel/kg. kata kunci: kelimpahan, mikroplastik, sedimen, banda aceh

Krueng Neng Reservoir is one of the waters with high activity which has the potential to pollute the waters, starting from tourism activities, fishing activities and household activities originating from around the reservoir. High activity in the Krueng Neng Reservoir can cause waste pollution in the reservoir, one of which is plastic waste. This study aims to identify the types and abundance of microplastics found in sediments in the Krueng Neng Reservoir, Meuraxa District, Banda Aceh City. The research was conducted in June 2023 using a purposive sampling method at 4 different stations. The parameters observed were the type and abundance of microplastics in the sediment. Microplastic type data were analyzed descriptively, and microplastic abundance data were analyzed using the sediment abundance formula. The results showed that in the sediments in the Krueng Neng Reservoir, 4 types of microplastics were found, namely fragments, fibers, films, and pellets. The highest total microplastic abundance was found at the 4th station, which was 87,8 particles/kg of dry sediment, followed by the 1st station at 76,7 particles/kg, the 2nd station at 62,2 particles/kg, and the lowest microplastic abundance found at the 3rd station at 51,1 particles/kg of dry sediment. So this research found 4 different types of microplastics in the Krueng Neng reservoir, namely fragments, fiber, film, and pellets, and the abundance of microplastics ranged from 51,1-87,8 particles/kg.
