Perkuliahan adalah kegiatan tatap muka antara dosen dengan mahasiswa sesuai dengan pokok bahasan mata kuliah tertentu meliputi persiapan materi perkuliahan, proses pembelajaran, pemberian tugas terstruktur dan evaluasi pembelajaran. masa studi seorang mahasiswa berbeda-beda mulai dari 3,5 tahun hingga 7 tahun, namun ideal masa studi mahasiswa ialah 4 tahun namun masih banyak juga mahasiswa s1 fmipa usk yang lulus tidak tepat waktu dari idealnya masa perkuliahan. penelitian ini melakukan pengujian tentang motivasi mahasiswa s1 fmipa usk angkatan 2017 untuk menyelesaikan tugas akhirnya walaupun sudah tidak tepat waktu idealnya, adapun penelitian ini diperuntukan bagi mahasiswa maksimal lulus tamatan tahun 2022, dengan masa lulus 3,5 hingga 5 tahun. tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang paling signifikan terhadap masa studi mahasiswa. metode yang digunakan untuk menganalisis karakteristik motivasi tersebut ialah metode chaid (chi-squared automatic interaction detection). metode chaid membagi data menjadi kelompok-kelompok yang lebih kecil berdasarkan keterkaitan antara peubah respon dengan peubah penjelas. karakteristik dan latar belakang pendidikan tersebut adalah jenis kelamin, asal sekolah, jurusan, tingkat pendidikan pembimbing, indeks prestasi kumulatif (ipk), dan nilai sidang. metode chaid dapat menampilkan grafis struktur pohon berupa diagram yang menjelaskan hubungan antara peubah respon kategorik dengan peubah penjelas kategorik sehingga mudah untuk diinterpretasikan. uji yang digunakan untuk menghasilkan diagram pohon adalah uji chi-square dan koreksi bonferroni. dalam penelitian ini digunakan data lulusan s1 fmipa usk angkatan 2017 yang lulus pada bulan september 2020 sampai dengan agustus 2022. hasil penelitian, menunjukan bahwa faktor-faktor yang paling signifikan terhadap masa studi adalah ipk, asal sekolah, tingkat pendidikan pembimbing, jenis kelamin, dan jurusan. dalam hal akurasi klasifikasi, persentase keakuratan model mengklasifikasikan masa studi secara tepat sebesar 71,8%. kata kunci: perkuliahan, metode chaid, chi-square, koreksi bonferroni.

The Lecture are activity face to face between lecturers and students in accordance with the subject matter of certain subjects including preparition of lecturers and students in accordance with the subject matter of certain subjects including preparation of lecture material, learning processes, giving structured assigments and evaluating learning. The study period for a student varies from 3.5 years to 7 years, but the ideal student study period is 4 years but there are still many USK FMIPA undergraduate students who graduate not on time from the ideal lecture period. This research examines the motivation of USK FMIPA S1 under graduated of 2017 to complete their final assignments, even though the ideal time is not fixed, while this research is intended for students who graduate to a maximum of 2022, with a graduation period of 3.5 to 5 years. The purpose of this research is to find out the most significant factors to the student’s study period. The method used to analyze the motivational characteristics is the CHAID (Chi-Square Automatic Interaction Detection) method. The CHAID method divides the data into smaller groups based on the relationship between the response variables ande the explanatory variables. The characteristics and educational background are gender, school origin, major, supervisor’s level of education, Grade Point Average (GPA), and trial grades. The CHAID methood can display a graphical tree structure in the form of a diagram that explains the relationship between categorical response variables and categorical explanatory variables so that it is easy to interpret. The test used to produce a tree diagram is the Chi-square test and Bonferroni correction. In this study, data were used on graduates of the faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences USK class of 2017 who graduated from september 2020 to August 2022. The result of the study showed that the most significant factors for the period of study were GPA, school origin, supervisor education,level, type gender, and major. In terms of classification accuracy, the percentage accuracy of the model correctly classifying the study period is 71,8%. Keywords: The Lectures, CHAID method, Chi-square, Bonferroni Correction.
