Identifikasi parasit gastrointestinal pada burung merpati (columba livia var domestica) abstrak salah satu penyakit yang dapat menyerang merpati atau burung dara adalah parasit gastrointestinal dari kelas cestoda, nematoda, trematoda, dan protozoa. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan memberikan informasi terkait jenis parasit gastrointestinal yang menginfeksi burung merpati (columba livia var domestica). sampel yang digunakan adalah feses burung merpati sebanyak 50 sampel dan identifikasi dilakukan menggunakan metode apung, metode sedimentasi, metode mcmaster, metode modified ziehl neelsen, sporulasi, dan metode formol-eter. dari 50 sampel burung merpati ditemukan 33 ekor merpati terinfeksi oleh parasit gastrointestinal dengan tingkat infeksi tunggal mendominasi menyerang burung merpati diikuti dengan infeksi ganda, dan multi-infeksi. parasit gastrointestinal yang menyerang burung merpati sebanyak 8 jenis spesies diantaranya adalah eimeria columbae, ascaridia columbae, strongiloides sp., entamoba sp., paratanaisia bragai, capilaria sp., railetina cesticullus, dan trichostrongylus sp. kata kunci: cestoda, endoparasit, merpati, nematoda, dan trematoda

IDENTIFICATION OF GASTROINTESTINAL PARASITS IN PIGEON (Columba livia var domestica) ABSTRACT One of the diseases that can attack pigeons (Columba livia var domestica) is a type of gastrointestinal parasites from class of Cestoda, Nematoda, Trematoda, and Protozoa. This study aims to identify and provide information regarding the type of gastrointestinal parasites that infect pigeons. The samples used were fecal samples from 50 pigeons. The fecal sampels were exmined using floating, sedimentation, Mcmaster, Modified Ziehl Neelsen, sporulation and formol-ether. Of the 50 samples of pigeons found, 33 pigeons were infected with gastrointestinal parasits with a single level of infection which dominated the attack of pigeons followed by double infections and multiple infections. Gastrointestinal parasite that attack pigeons are 8 species, including Eimeria columbae, Ascaridia columbae, Strongiloides sp., Entamoba sp., Paratanaisia bragai, Capilaria sp., Railetina cesticullus and Trichostrongylus sp.
