Kata kunci: flipped classroom, implementasi, keterampilan berbicara, sekolah kejuruan. berbicara bahasa inggris dengan lancar adalah keterampilan penting yang harus dimiliki siswa smk untuk mendapatkan lebih banyak kesempatan demi kemajuan karir di masa depan. namun, jam pelajaran yang diberikan per minggu tidak memberikan kesempatan bagi mereka untuk berlatih berbicara secara intensif. selain itu, proses belajar mengajar yang dilakukan terutama berpusat pada guru. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan flipped classroom untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas 1 smkn 8 lhokseumawe. pendekatan kualitatif, khususnya desain penelitian tindakan kelas digunakan dalam penelitian ini. observasi kelas dan tes berbicara selama 2 siklus digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data. data penelitian ini dianalisis secara kualitatif yang memudahkan peneliti menginterpretasikan data penelitian secara komprehensif. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan pada aktivitas guru dan siswa, masing-masing dengan kategori sangat baik dan baik yang diikuti dengan peningkatan keterampilan berbicara siswa dengan skor rata-rata 79,70 dari 68,33 dan persentase ketuntasan. adalah 87,50% dari 67%. studi ini menunjukkan bahwa model flipped classroom dapat menjadi pendekatan instruksional yang efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara di kalangan siswa smk.

Abstract
Keywords: Flipped classroom, implementation, speaking skills, vocational school. Speaking English fluently is an essential skill the vocational students must possess in order to get more opportunities for career advancement in the future. Unfortunately, the classroom hours credited per week did not cover the opportunity for them to practice speaking intensively. Besides, the learning and teaching process carried out was primarily teacher centered. This research aimed at describing the implementation of flipped classroom to enhance the students’ speaking skills of the 1st grade students of SMKN 8 Lhokseumawe. A qualitative approach, specifically a classroom action research design was employed in this research. Classroom observation and speaking test during 2 cycles were used to collect data. The data of this research were analyzed qualitatively which eased the researcher interpret the research data comprehensively. The research findings showed that there was significant improvement in the activities of teacher and students, each of which was with the category of very good and good which was followed by the enhancement of student’s speaking skills where mean score was 79.70 from 68.33 and the completeness percentage was 87.50% from 67%. The study suggests that the flipped classroom model can be an effective instructional approach to enhance speaking skills among vocational students.
