Abstract
ABSTRACT Construction projects involve the allocation of certain resources that aim to achieve the final work result, which is determined by the suitability of cost, time, and quality. Risk management is a key project management practice that ensures that project risks are controlled. The initial risk can be identified based on the source of the uncertainty. In addition, nowadays project risks continue to increase, as evidenced by the increase in pandemics, which continue to create risks of cost overruns, delays in the completion of work, and inaccuracies in quality. The purpose of this study is to identify the key risk factors that drive road construction project implementation and to examine emerging risks' possible effects on the project. A literature review process was used to achieve this purpose, and papers from both the academic background and industrial practice were included. According to the articles analyzed, the following are the main risk variables that influence construction projects: suppliers who cannot fulfill the material ordered; Additional equipment rental fees; Difficult access for heavy equipment; Increased labor costs; Construction methods; Changes in planning field investigations; and Poor location conditions and being difficult to reach. The paper also examines the recommended risk mitigation techniques and methods. A mixed methodology was employed for the research, with literature and PT Hutama Karya as the data sources. Validity and reliability tests on the study variables, descriptive analysis, the mean score, and the standard deviation come first in the data analysis technique. As project teams plan, carry out, and monitor their projects, the paper also offers a thorough analysis of the best risk management strategies. Academics, professionals, and stakeholders who are involved in construction projects in diverse contexts might find the conclusions of this work to be helpful. Keywords: Risk, Dominant factors, Construction project, Influence.
