Uji efektivitas ekstrak etanol daun bandotan (ageratum conyzoides) terhadap prtumbuhan bakteri shigella atcc 25931 secara in vitro abstrak daun bandotan (ageratum conyzoides) merupakan tanaman yang memiliki aktivitas dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri. tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui tingkat efektivitas ekstrak etanol daun bandotan (ageratum conyzoides) terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri shigella atcc 25931 secara in vitro. penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan metode kirby bauer disk diffusion yang dimulai dengan tahapan penyegaran isolat bakteri ke dalam media nb (nutrient broth) dan re-identifikasi dengan pewarnaan gram serta uji efektivitas menggunakan media mha (muller hinton agar). perlakuan menggunakan konsentrasi ekstrak 25%, 50%, 75%, kloramfenikol sebagai kontrol positif dan cmc (carboximetyl cellulose) 1% sebagai kontrol negatif. hasil penelitian menunjukkan diameter zona hambat ekstrak etanol daun bandotan pada konsentrasi 25% sebesar 6,04 mm; 50% sebesar 6,57 mm dan 75% sebesar 6,86 mm, sedangkan pada antibiotik kloramfenikol diameter zona hambat sebesar 25,55 mm dan cmc 1% sebesar 0 mm. dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun bandotan memiliki aktivitas dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri shigella atcc 25931 dengan kategori lemah. kata kunci: antibakteri, daun bandotan, shigella atcc 25931

EFFECTIVENESS TEST OF ETHANOL EXTRACT OF BANDOTAN LEAVES (Ageratum conyzoides) AGAINST THE GROWTH OF SHIGELLA ATCC 25931 BACTERIA IN VITRO ABSTRACT Bandotan leaf (Ageratum conyzoides) is a plant that is thought to have antibacterial properties. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of ethanol extract of bandotan leaves (Ageratum conyzoides) against the growth of Shigella ATCC 25931 bacteria in vitro. This study was conducted using the Kirby Bauer disk diffusion method with the stages of refreshing bacterial isolates into NB (Nutrient broth) media and reidentification by Gram staining and effectiveness testing using MHA (Muller Hinton Agar) media. Extract treatment concentration 25%, 50%, 75%, chloramphenicol as a positive control and 1% CMC (Carboximetyl cellulose) as a negative control. The effectiveness of the extract was measured based on the diameter of the inhibition zone formed and analyzed descriptively. The results showed the diameter of the inhibition zone of the ethanol extract of bandotan leaves at a concentration of 25% was 6.04 mm; 50% was 6.57 mm and 75% was 6.86 mm, while in the antibiotic chloramphenicol the average inhibition zone was 25.55 mm and CMC 1% was 0 mm. It can be concluded that the ethanol extract of bandotan leaves has activity in inhibiting the growth of Shigella ATCC 25931 bacteria with a weak category.
