Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk mengindentifikasi jenis dan kelimpahan sampah laut makro di kawasan pantai alue riyeung dan pantai nipah pesisir pulau aceh, kabupaten aceh besar. dilaksanakan selama 2 musim pada bulan april dan agustus 2022. penentuan titik penelitian ini dimulai dari garis pantai lalu garis transek ditarik sepanjang 100 meter menuju ke arah vegetasi yang ditemukan dengan lebar 15,7 untuk pantai nipah dan 13,8 untuk pantai alue riyeung. identifikasi sampah laut dilaksanakan di laboratorium kimia laut fakultas keluatan dan perikanan, universitas syiah kuala secara visual. hasil penelitian menunjukan ditemukan 9 jenis sampah laut di setiap pantai, dengan sampah laut makro jenis plastik ditemukan paling mendominasi sebanyak 2.350 unit pada bulan april dengan nilai kelimpahan 1,706 unit/m2 dan 787 unit pada bulan agustus dengan nilai kelimpahan 0,562 unit/m2.

This research was carried out with the aim of identifying the type and abundance of macro marine debris in the Alue Riyeung Beach area and the Coastal Nipah Beach of Aceh Island, Aceh Besar District. It was carried out for 2 seasons in April and August 2022. The determination of the point for this research started from the coastline and then a transect line was drawn 100 meters long towards the vegetation found with a width of 15.7 for Nipah Beach and 13.8 for Alue Riyeung Beach. Visual identification of marine debris was carried out at the Marine Chemistry Laboratory, Faculty of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Syiah Kuala University. The results showed that 9 types of marine debris were found on each beach, with macro-plastic marine debris found to dominate as much as 2,350 units in April with an abundance value of 1.706 units/m2 and 787 units in August with an abundance value of 0.562 units/m2.
