Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh indeks demokrasi terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi melalui mediasi investasi di indonesia dari tahun 2012 sampai dengan tahun 2020 data sekunder yang digunakan yaitu pertumbuhan ekonomi (pe), investasi (inv), dan indeks demokrasi yang terdiri dari indeks kebebasan sipil (ks), indeks hak-hak politik (hp), dan indeks kelembagaan (kb), bersumber dari publikasi resmi badan pusat statistik (bps). berdasarkan hasil analisis data menggunakam model generalized method of moments (gmm), penelitian ini menemukan beberapa hasil. pertama, indeks hak-hak politik dan kelembagaan berpengaruh secara positif dan signifikan terhadap investasi dan pertumbuhan eokonomi di indonesia. sedangkan indeks kebebasan sipil berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap investasi dan pertumbuhan eokonomi di indonesia. kedua, investasi mampu memediasi seluruhh indeks demokrasi yaitu dari indeks kebebasan sipil (ks), indeks hak-hak politik (hp), dan indeks kelembagaan (kb). hasil ini menunjukkan pentingnya untuk meningkatkan hak-hak kebebasan politik dan kelembagaan demokratis dan membatasi kebebasan sipil untuk mendorong peningkatan investasi dan akibatnya juga akan meningkatkan pertumbuhan ekonomi. kata kunci: pertumbuhan ekonomi; investasi; indeks demokrasi; generalized method of moments (gmm)

The purpose of this research is to examine the impact of the democracy index on economic growth in Indonesia through investment mediation from 2012 to 2020. The secondary statistics used include economic growth (PE), investment (INV), and the democracy index, which includes the civil liberties index (KS), political rights index (HP), and institutional index (KB), obtained from the official publication of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS). This study discovered several results based on data analysis employing the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) model. First, Indonesia's investment and economic growth are positively and significantly impacted by the index of political and institutional rights. Meanwhile, the civil liberties index has a negative and significant impact on Indonesian investment and economic growth. Second, investment can mediate all democratic indices, including the institutional index, the political rights index, and the civil liberties index. These results suggest the importance of providing more political freedom and democratic institutions and limiting civil freedom to promote investment and consequently boost economic growth.
