Perbandingan analisis ekonomi memberikan informasi terhadap nelayan pengguna kapal ikan berbahan kayu dan kapal ikan berbahan fiberglass. selama ini banyak yang beranggapan bahwa kapal kayu lebih murah dibanding kapal fiberglass. kenyataannya sampai saat ini belum ada penelitian yang menguraikan komponen biaya variabel maupun biaya operasionalnya sehingga perbedaan biaya pada kedua kapal tersebut jelas terlihat. sementara itu, dilihat dari kualitas dan efisiensinya dalam melakukan operasi penangkapan ikan, kedua kapal tersebut perlu dikaji untuk mengetahui kapal mana yang lebih ekonomis. oleh karena itu tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah memberikan perbandingan antara penggunaan kapal kayu dan kapal fiberglass ditinjau dari segi ekonomis dan berapa lama investasi kedua kapal tersebut kembali serta berapa keuntungan yang didapat. metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengambilan data menggunakan metode survey. berdasarkan hasil dari analisis ekonomi, yaitu net present value > 0 proyek diterima, net benefit cost ratio > 1 proyek layak diusahakan, internal rate of return > suku bunga, yaitu 5,75% proyek usaha layak diusahakan, payback period < umur ekonomis investasi, usulan investasi diterima dan mendapat keuntungan. kesimpulannya adalah penggunaan kapal kayu dan kapal fiberglass kedua kapal tersebut diterima dan layak untuk dijalankan tetapi penggunaan kapal fiberglass lebih ekonomis. kata kunci: perbandingan ekonomis, kapal kayu, kapal fiberglass, keuntungan.

Comparative economic analysis provides information to fishermen using wooden fishing boats and fiberglass fishing boats. So far, many people assume that wooden boats are cheaper than fiberglass boats. In fact, until now there has been no research that describes the variable cost components and operational costs so that the difference in costs on the two vessels is clearly visible. Meanwhile, in terms of quality and efficiency in conducting fishing operations, both vessels need to be studied to determine which vessel is more economical. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to provide a comparison between the use of wooden boats and fiberglass boats in terms of economics and how long the investment of the two vessels returns and how much profit is obtained. The research method used in this research is a qualitative method with data collection techniques using survey methods. Based on the results of the economic analysis, namely Net Present Value > 0 the project is accepted, Net Benefit Cost Ratio > 1 the project is feasible, Internal Rate of Return > interest rate, which is 5,75% the business project is feasible, Payback Period < economic life of investment, the proposed investment is accepted and get profitable. Conclusion is the use of wooden boats and fiberglass boats are both accepted and feasible to run but the use of fiberglass boats is economical.
