Abstrak erma daiyani (2023). pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran improve terhadap penalaran siswa kelas viii smpn 6 banda aceh. salah satu kemampuan matematis yang harus dimiliki siswa adalah belajar untuk bernalar. namun, pada kenyataannya penalaran siswa masih rendah. hal ini disebabkan karena siswa belum sepenuhnya menguasai keterampilan metakognitif dalam proses belajar. oleh karena itu, perlu adanya penerapan model pembelajaran yang membuat siswa aktif. salah satunya menerapkan model pembelajaran improve (introducing the new concept, metakognitive question, practicing, reviewing and reducing difficulties, obtaining mastery, verification, enrichment). tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran improve terhadap penalaran siswa kelas viii smpn 6 banda aceh. penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian pre-experimental design, dengan desain penelitian one group pretest-posttest design. penelitian dilaksanakan di smpn 6 banda aceh. populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas viii smpn 6 banda aceh. sampel dalam penelitian ini dipilih secara purposive sampling yaitu siswa kelas viii-6 yang berjumlah 32 orang. adapun instrumen yang digunakan berupa soal tes penalaran untuk mengukur kemampuan siswa. data penelitian ini dianalisis menggunakan statistik paired sampel t test. hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran improve terhadap penalaran siswa kelas viii smpn 6 banda aceh. hal ini ditunjukkan dari hasil analisis data yaitu nilai thitung (25,93) > ttabel (1,69552), sehingga h0 ditolak dan ha diterima. implikasi dari penelitian ini model pembelajaran improve berpengaruh positif terhadap penalaran siswa, oleh karena itu bisa dijadikan alternatif pilihan model pembelajaran dalam upaya meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran siswa. kata kunci: model pembelajaran improve, penalaran.

ABSTRACT Erma Daiyani (2023). The Effect of Applying the IMPROVE Learning Model on the Reasoning of Class VIII Students of SMPN 6 Banda Aceh. One of the mathematical abilities that students must have is learning to reason. However, in fact the students' reasoning is still low. This is because students have not fully mastered metacognitive skills in the learning process. Therefore, it is necessary to apply a learning model that makes students active. One of them applies the IMPROVE learning model (Introducing the new concept, Metacognitive questions, Practicing, Reviewing and Reducing difficulties, Obtaining mastery, Verification, Enrichment). The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of applying the IMPROVE learning model to the reasoning of class VIII students of SMPN 6 Banda Aceh. This study used a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design, with a one group pretest-posttest design. The research was conducted at SMPN 6 Banda Aceh. The population in this study were all grade VIII students of SMPN 6 Banda Aceh. The sample in this study was selected by purposive sampling, namely class VIII-6 students, totaling 32 people. The instrument used is a matter of reasoning tests to measure students' abilities. The research data were analyzed using paired sample t test statistics. The results of this study indicate that there is an effect of applying the IMPROVE learning model to the reasoning of class VIII students of SMPN 6 Banda Aceh. This is shown from the results of data analysis, namely the value of tcount (25.93) > ttable (1.69552), so that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. The implication of this research is that the IMPROVE learning model has a positive effect on students' reasoning, therefore it can be used as an alternative choice of learning models in an effort to improve students' reasoning abilities.
