Code mixing erjadi ketika penutur mencampur dua bahasa saat berbicara. tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi jenis-jenis campur kode dan alasan penggunaan campur kode dalam video podcast puella.id dengan menggunakan teori yang dikemukakan oleh hoffman (1991). metode penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. dari hasil tersebut, terdapat total 194 kejadian campur kode yang ditemukan dalam data. yang paling dominan adalah tipe intra-sentential (80%), diikuti code-mixing intra-lexical code mixing (19%), dan involving a change of pronunciation (1%). dari tujuh alasan penggunaan campur kode, peneliti hanya menemukan empat alasan. dari 194 contoh yang diperoleh, talking about a particular topic (90%), repetition for clarification (5%), interjections (3%), and quoting somebody else (1%). sedangkan intentions of clarifying the speech content for the interlocutor, be emphatic about something, and expressing group identity tidak ditemukan dalam penelitian ini. kata kunci : code mixing, podcast, puella.id youtube channel

Code mixing occurs when a speaker mixes two languages while speaking. The purpose of this study is to identify the types of code mixing and the reasons for using code mixing in a video podcast PUELLA.ID using the theory proposed by Hoffman (1991). This is a descriptive qualitative research method. From the result, there are a total of 194 instances of code mixing found in the data. The most dominant was the intra-sentential type (80%), followed by intra-lexical code mixing (19%), and involving a change of pronunciation (1%). Of the seven reasons for using code-mixing, the researcher only found four reasons. Of 194 instances obtained, talking about a particular topic (90%), repetition for clarification (5%), interjections (3%), and quoting somebody else (1%). Whereas the reasons of intentions of clarifying the speech content for the interlocutor, be emphatic about something, and expressing group identity were not found in this study.
