Hasil belajar siswa merupakan hal penting yang harus perhatikan. hal tersebut masih tergolong rendah disebabkan oleh banyak faktor, salah satu diantaranya yaitu model pembelajaran yang digunakan masih kurang tepat dalam proses pembelajaran. oleh karena itu, model pembelajaran problem based learning diharapkan dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa untuk mencari solusi dari suatu masalah konstektual. model ini dapat diterapkan pada pembelajaran matematika khususnya pada materi aritmatika sosial. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa pada materi aritmatika sosial yang dibelajarkan melalui penerapan model problem based learning di smp negeri 19 percontohan banda aceh. penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian true experimental design yang menggunakan desain posttest only control grup design, populasi dari penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas vii smp negeri 19 percontohan banda aceh yang terdiri dari 3 kelas. pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara acak dan diperoleh kelas vii-2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas vii-3 sebagai kelas kontrol, yang sebelumnya kedua kelas tersebut sudah diuji dengan test awal untuk melihat bahwa kemampuan kedua kelas adalah homogen. teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah test dan instrumennya berupa soal uraian aritmatika sosial yang terdiri atas 6 soal. pengujian hipotesis dilakukan menggunakan uji z. hasil pengujian hipotesis di peroleh zhitung = 3,56 sementara taraf signifikan= 0,05 dengan uji satu pihak yaitu pihak kanan maka 0,5 – 0,05 = 0,45, sehingga diperoleh ztabel = 1,64. sesuai dengan kriteria pengujian hipotesis karena zhitung > ztabel, maka h0 ditolak sehingga hasil belajar siswa materi aritmatika sosial melalui model pembelajaran problem based learning lebih baik dari pada hasil belajar siswa melalui pembelajaran konvensional di smp negeri 19 percontohan banda aceh.

Student learning outcomes are important things to pay attention to. This is still relatively low due to many factors, one of which is the learning model used is still not appropriate in the learning process. Therefore, the problem-based learning model is expected to improve student learning outcomes to find solutions to a contextual problem. This model can be applied to learning mathematics, especially in Social Arithmetic material. This study aims to determine student learning outcomes in Social Arithmetic material which is taught through the application of problem based learning models at SMP Negeri 19 Percontohan Banda Aceh. This study used a quantitative approach with a true experimental design using a posttest only control group design. The population of this study were all students of class VII SMP Negeri 19 Pilot Banda Aceh consisting of 3 classes. Sampling was carried out randomly and obtained class VII-2 as the experimental class and class VII-3 as the control class. Previously, the two classes had been tested with a pre-test to see that the abilities of the two classes were homogeneous. The data collection technique used in this study was a test and the instrument was a description of Social Arithmetic which consisted of 6 questions. Hypothesis testing is done using the z test. The results of testing the hypothesis obtained zcount = 3.56 while the significant level = 0.05 with a one-sided test, namely the right side, then 0.5 – 0.05 = 0.45, so that ztable = 1.64 is obtained. In accordance with the criteria for testing the hypothesis because zcount > ztable, then H0 is rejected so that student learning outcomes in Social Arithmetic material through the problem-based learning model are better than student learning outcomes through conventional learning at SMP Negeri 19 Percontohan Banda Aceh.
