Siska Pratiwi, HISTOLOGIS DAN HISTOMORFOMETRI KULIT AYAM KAMPUNG (GALLUS GALLUS DOMESTICUS), BEBEK (ANAS PLATYRHYNCHOS) DAN BURUNG MERPATI (COLUMBA LIVIA) PADA REGIO VENTRAL ABDOMEN. Banda Aceh Fakultas Kedokteran Hewan,2023

Abstract

HISTOLOGY AND HISTOMORPHOMETRY OF THE SKIN OF DOMESTIC FOWL (Gallus gallus domesticus), DUCK (Anas platyrhynchos), AND DOVES (Columba livia) IN THE VENTRAL ABDOMINAL REGION ABSTRACT The skin is the outermost organ that functions as a covering, protector, and thermoregulation in living animals, including the class of aves. This study aims to determine the histological and histomorphometric of the skin of domestic fowl (Gallus gallus domesticus), duck (Anas platyrhynchos), and doves (Columba livia) in the ventral abdominal region. Each study samples were consisted of six tails. The samples were processed into histological preparations with a thickness of 5 µm, then stained using Haematoxylin-Eosin (HE). The results showed that the histological structure of the skin of domestic fowl, duck, and doves is relatively thin compare to the structure of the skin of mammals and consist of the epidermis, dermis, and hipodermis (subkutis). The histomorphometric data had been analyzed showed that the thickness of the epidermal layer of the skin in the ventral abdominal region of the domestic fowl, duck, and doves was not significantly different (P>0,05), but there are different significant (P
