Putri Noerliaz Syaiz, KARAKTERISASI SENYAWA AKTIF EKSTRAK DAUN KIRINYUH (CHROMOLAENA ODORATA) YANG DIPEROLEH MELALUI METODE ETHANOL PRECIPITATION YANG BERMANFAAT DALAM PENYEMBUHAN LUKA. Banda Aceh Fakultas Kedokteran Gigi,2023

Abstract

Kirinyuh plants (Choromolaena odorata) have been widely used by the community as traditional medicine. Kirinyuh plants contain active compounds that can be used in wound healing. Kirinyuh leaf extract was obtained by the ethanol precipitation method. This research aimed to determine the characteristics of the active compounds in kirinyuh leaf extract that are useful in wound healing. Methods: The extract was subjected to phytochemical tests, Chromatography and Mass Spectroscopy (GC-MS) tests, Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) tests, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) tests, total flavonoid tests, and antioxidant tests. Results the phytochemical test contained terpenoids, saponins, flavonoids, and phenolics. The GC-MS test found the dominant compounds, namely 9-octadecenoic acid, methyl ester also called methyl oleate or oleic acid, and hexadecanoic acid, methyl ester also called methyl palmitate or palmitic acid. The compounds methyl oleate and methyl palmitate are beneficial in the wound healing process during the inflammatory phase by reducing proinflammatory cytokines and increasing anti-inflammatory agents such as interleukin 10 (IL-10). The antioxidant activity test showed an IC50 value of 7.778,73 ppm and a total flavonoid content of 0,4% b/b. It was concluded that kirinyuh leaf extract has active compounds methyl oleate and methyl palmitate, which act as anti-inflammatory agents in wound healing, but the antioxidant activity of the extracts is very weak.
