Karies gigi merupakan gangguan pada rongga mulut yang paling sering dialami penduduk indonesia, penyebab utamanya adalah bakteri streptococcus mutans. tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui adanya aktivitas antibakteri terhadap bakteri s. mutans dan kandungan metabolit sekunder dari bakông asóê (nicotiana tabacum l.). ekstraksi menggunakan metode maserasi dengan pelarut etanol, selanjutnya dilakukan karakterisasi dan skrining fitokimia serta partisi menggunakan pelarut etanol 96%, etil asetat dan n-heksan, hasil masing-masing partisi kemudian dianalisis menggunakan gc-ms dan dilakukan pengujian aktivitas antibakteri terhadap bakteri s. mutans menggunakan metode difusi sumuran. hasil karakterisasi ekstrak telah memenuhi persyaratan yang ditetapkan dan skrining fitokimia ekstrak positif terhadap senyawa alkaloid, flavonoid, steroid, saponin dan tanin. hasil uji gc-ms ekstrak bakông asóê diperoleh kadar komponen senyawa paling banyak berdasarkan relative area (%) yaitu; pyridine sebesar 26,74%, neophytadiene sebesar 9,47%, hexadecanoic acid sebesar 7,76%, (1's,2's)-nicotine-n'-oxide sebesar 7,26% dan phytol sebesar 6,56%. aktivitas antibakteri pada masing-masing partisi terhadap bakteri streptococcus mutans memberikan hasil negatif.



Abstract

Dental caries is a disorder of the oral cavity that is most often experienced by Indonesian people, the main cause is Streptococcus mutans bacteria. The purpose of this study was to determine the presence of antibacterial activity against Streptococcus mutans bacteria and the content of secondary metabolites from bakông asóê (Nicotiana tabacum L.). Extraction used maceration method with ethanol solvent, then carried out phytochemical characterization and screening as well as liquid-liquid fractionation using 96% ethanol, ethyl acetate and N-hexane solvent, the results of each fraction were then analyzed using GC-MS and tested for antibacterial activity against bacteria Streptococcus mutans using the well diffusion method. The results of the characterization of the extract met the specified requirements and the phytochemical screening of the extract was positive for alkaloids, flavonoids, steroids, saponins and tannins. The results of the GC-MS test results of the GC-MS analysis of bakông asóê extract obtained the most 5 compound components based on relative area (%) namely; Pyridine or 2-(1-methyl-2-pyrrolidinyl)-, 26.74%, Neophytadiene 9.47%, Hexadecanoic acid 7.76%, (1's,2's)-Nicotine-N'-oxide 7 .26% and Phytol of 6.56%. Antibacterial activity on each partition against Streptococcus mutans gave negative results
