Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Renewable Energy Consumption, Financial Development, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and Population to the increasing of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Emission in ASEAN Countries. The data in this study uses a secondary data in the form of annual data from 1960-2021 that obtained from the world bank. The type of data use in this study is Panel Data which is a combination between Time Series and Cross Section data. Time Series data are annual data from 1960-2021 while Cross Section data are ASEAN Countries. The finding of this study that Renewable Energy Consumption has a negative and significant effect of increasing Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Emission in ASEAN Countries. While Financial Development, Foreign Direct Investment and Population has a Positive and significant effect on Increasing Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Emission in ASEAN Countries. It is suggested to the government in each country to immediately establish policies to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by implementing several policies regarding to environmentally friendly and implementing green industrial technology such as using biomass as an alternative fuel, use energy transition to renewable energy, and other policies that can reduce Carbon Dioxide Emission.
