Air merupakan komponen penting untuk penyediaan air bersih karena tanpa sumber air maka suatu sistempenyediaan air bersih tidak akan berfungsi. untuk memenuhi kebutuhan makhluk hidup, air juga didapatkan dari berbagai sumber, contohnya air hujan, air permukaan, air tanah dan air laut. pdam tirta mountala memberikan suplai air bersih kepada pengguna dengan mengambil air baku dari sumber air (contohnya air sungai) dan dilakukan proses penjernihan dengan tahap tertentu sehingga dihasilkan air yang baik dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat. setelah dilakukan penjernihan lalu didistribusikan kepada masyarakat dengan menggunakan pompa distribusi. pompa distribusi yang digunakan pada pdam tirta mountala berjenis sentrifugal. pompa yang digunakan harus memiliki spesifikasi sesuai dengan kapasitas bak penampung atau reservoir pada instalasi tersebut. dikarenakan masyarakat memerlukan air setiap saat maka pompa distribusi juga harus dioperasikan setiap saat. untuk menjaga agar pompa sentrifugal tetap beroperasi pada kondisi terbaiknya sehingga proses pengolahan dapat berjalan dengan lancar dan produk yang dihasilkan sesuai dengan spesifikasi yang ditetapkan. pompa harus memenuhi syarat kapasitas yang dibutuhkan water treatment plant (wtp) tersebut, seperti pada wtp maswandi yang berkapasitas 40 l/s, maka pompa yang digunakan juga harus berkapasitas 40 l/s.

The pump used must have specifications according to the capacity of the reservoir or reservoir in the installation. Because the community needs water all the time, distribution pumps must also be operated all the time. To keep the centrifugal pump operating at its best condition so that the processing can run smoothly and the product produced is in accordance with the established specifications. The pump must meet the capacity requirements required by the Water Treatment Plant (WTP), such as the Maswandi WTP with a capacity of 40 L/s, so the pump used must also have a capacity of 40 L/s.
