GAYO HORSE TESTOSTERONE LEVELS RIGHT BEFORE AND AFTER MATTING ABSTRACT Testosterone is a male sex hormone produced by the testes, besides functioning to raise libido, it also affects the male's ability to have an erection and ejaculate. This study aims to determine the comparison of testosterone levels just before and after mating in male Gayo horses. This research was conducted in Central Aceh District and the Research Laboratory of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Syiah Kuala University. The samples used in this study were 4 adult male Gayo horses mated with female horses. Blood plasma collection was carried out just before and after mating, and then testosterone levels were checked using the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method. The data obtained were analyzed using the T test with the results obtained differences in testosterone levels just before and after mating in male Gayo horses (P
