Sistem operasi open source linux ubuntu 20.04.3 ini adalah sistem operasi proyek andalan dari debian. sebagian besar sistem operasi ini terdiri dari perangkat lunak bebas dari sumber terbuka dengan lisensi gnu, dan utamanya menggunakan kernel linux. sistem operasi ini disediakan oleh pengembangnya untuk dipelajari, diubah, dan bahkan dapat dikembangkan lebih lanjut untuk disebarluaskan. penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengembangkan sistem operasi dengan konfigurasi dan aplikasi yang dapat menjalankan sebuah aplikasi ujian berbasis komputer. pengembangan sistem operasi linux debian ini dilakukan dengan metode remastering. remastering pada linux adalah sebuah proses kustomisasi perangkat lunak untuk sendiri atau penggunaan off-label yang tergantung lisensi legalitas distribusi. penggunaan metode ini telah berasosiasi dengan distribusi linux, di mana pada umumnya sebagian besar distribusi linux yang beredar saat ini adalah hasil dari remastering. hasil sistem operasi yang telah di remastering ini, kemudian diuji dengan metode pengujian black box testing. pada uji coba black box menghasilkan data 100% valid secara fungsionalitas. kemudian dilakukan pengujian perbandingan komparasi sumber daya dan konsumsi data antara sistem operasi remastering dengan sistem operasi non-remastering, dimana terdapat sedikit perbedaan dimana sistem operasi non-remastering membutuhkan sumber daya yang lebih rendah, akan tetapi menghabiskan konsumsi data yang lebih tinggi. sementara untuk sistem operasi remastering membutuhkan sumber daya yang lebih tinggi, akan tetapi menghabiskan konsumsi data yang lebih rendah. dengan demikian, sistem operasi hasil remastering dari sistem operasi open source linux debian ini telah dapat digunakan secara keseluruhan fungsionalitas sebagai sistem operasi dengan konfigurasi dan aplikasi yang sesuai untuk bisa menyelenggarakan sebuah ujian berbasis komputer. kata kunci : remastering, linux, ubunutu, sistem operasi, ujian komputer.

The Linux Ubuntu 20.04.3 open source operating system is the flagship project operating system from Debian. Most of these operating systems consist of free software from open sources under the GNU license and mainly use the Linux kernel. This operating system is provided by its developers to be studied, modified, and can even be further developed for distribution. This research was conducted to develop an operating system with configurations and applications that can run a computer-based exam application. The development of the Debian Linux operating system is carried out by the remastering method. Remastering on Linux is a process of customizing software for your own or off-label use depending on the legality of the distribution license. The use of this method has been associated with the distribution of Linux, where in general most Linux distributions circulating today are the result of remastering. The results of this remastering operating system are then tested using the Black Box Testing method. In the black box test, the data is 100% valid in functionality. Then, a comparison test of resources and bandwidth was carried out between the remastering operating system and the non-remastering operating system, where there was a slight difference where the non-remastering operating system required lower resources, but consumed higher bandwidth. Meanwhile, the remastering operating system requires higher resources but consumes lower bandwidth. Thus, the operating system remastered from the open source Linux Debian operating system has been able to be used in its full functionality as an operating system with appropriate configurations and applications to be able to administer a Computer Based Exam.
