Abstrak sapi aceh adalah sapi potong yang berukuran kecil dan merupakan plasma nutfah asli dari provinsi aceh. kendala yang sering dihadapi oleh peternak adalah penyakit parasit pencernaan, salah satu parasit pencernaan yang sering menyerang sapi adalah protozoa. tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi ada atau tidaknya protozoa entamoeba sp. yang menginfeksi sapi aceh yang berada di kecamatan kuta cot glie kabupaten aceh besar. penelitian dilakukan menggunakan 54 sampel feses sapi aceh yang berasal dari 4 desa yaitu desa ie alang masjid, ie alang dayah, ie alang keureumeh dan ie alang lamghui. sampel yang digunakan diperiksa menggunakan metode floatasi dan metode formol – eter. hasil penelitian ini desa ie alang keureumeh 75%; ie alang masjid 70,5%; ie alang dayah 55,5% dan desa ie alang lamghui 50%, sehingga dapat disimpulkan prevalensi entamoeba sp. pada sapi aceh di kecamatan kuta cot glie adalah 64,8%. kata kunci: sapi aceh, entamoeba sp., floatasi, formol – eter

ABSTRACT Aceh cattle are small beef cattle and are native germplasm from Aceh Province. Constraints that are often faced by farmers are digestive parasitic diseases, one of the digestive parasites that often attack cattle is protozoa. The purpose of this study was to identify the presence or absence of the protozoan Entamoeba sp. which infects Acehnese cattle in Kuta Cot Glie District, Aceh Besar District. The study was conducted using 54 samples of Aceh cattle feces from 4 villages, namely Ie Alang Masjid, Ie Alang Dayah, Ie Alang Keureumeh and Ie Alang Lamghui villages. The samples used were examined using the floatation method and the formol-ether method. The results of this study are 75% Ie Alang Keureumeh Village; Ie Alang Masjid 70.5%; Ie Alang Dayah 55.5% and Ie Alang Lamghui Village 50%, so it can be concluded that the prevalence of Entamoeba sp. in aceh cattle in Kuta Cot Glie sub-district is 64.8%.
