Abstract
The number of Cesarean Section (CS) deliveries currently exceeds the established ideal rate. CS procedures can affect the increase in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) admission rate, blood transfusion rate, hysterectomy rate, length of hospitalization, and maternal mortality rate. The purpose of the study was to determine the characteristics and the description of maternal outcomes of CS patients at RSUDZA Banda Aceh in 2020. The type of the research is descriptive using secondary data. Sampling was done using a non-probability sampling technique using the total sampling method. The results showed that the majority of CS patients at RSUDZA in 2020 were aged 20-35 years old (77.2%), having last education status of SMP/SMA/equivalent (56.4%), did not working/housewives (68.7%), were non-referral patients (80.7%), were a patient with a history of previous CS (26.3%), were a patient undergoing emergency CS (86.1%), experienced multiparity (45.6%), had gestational age at term (82.6%) and had no comorbid disease (93.4%). Maternal outcomes and its percentage on patients were descripted in several indicators as patients who were admitted to the ICU (8,9%), required blood transfusion (18,1%), required hysterectomy (5%), had a length of hospitalization > 5 days (9,7%) and were died (0,8%).
