Ayam joper merupakan hasil perbaikan genetik menggunakan metode grading up, dengan menyilangkan ayam ras betina dengan pejantan lokal unggul. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh bentuk telur terhadap fertilitas, daya tetas dan rasio jenis kelamin anak ayam joper. penelitian ini terdiri dari tiga kelompok telur yaitu kelompok telur lonjong, kelompok telur oval dan kelompok telur bulat. metode penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional, sampel penelitian dibagi dalam tiga kelompok bentuk telur, yaitu kelompok i bentuk telur lonjong dengan indeks telur 76%, masing-masing kelompok terdiri dari 25 butir telur. data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif dan disajikan didalam bentuk tabel dengan menghitung fertilitas, daya tetas telur dan rasio jenis kelamin anak ayam joper. hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa tingkat fertilitas telur pada kelompok i sebesar 80,00%, kelompok ii sebesar 88,00% dan kelompok iii sebesar 72,00%; tingkat daya tetas telur pada kelompok i sebesar 70,00%, kelompok ii sebesar 86,36% dan kelompok iii sebesar 61,11%; serta rasio jenis kelamin anak ayam joper yang ditetaskan pada kelompok i (1,33), kelompok ii (1,11), dan kelompok iii (1,20). kesimpulannya bentuk telur memengaruhi fertilitas dan daya tetas telur ayam joper, namun tidak memengaruhi terhadap rasio jenis kelamin anak ayam joper. kata kunci: ayam joper, bentuk telur, daya tetas, fertilitas, rasio jenis kelamin

Joper chickens are the result of genetic improvement using the grading up method, by crossing hens of the female breed with superior local males. This study aims to determine the influence of egg shape on fertility, hatchability and sex ratio of joper chicks. This study consisted of three groups of eggs, namely the pointed egg group, the oval egg group and the round egg group. This research method is an observational study, the study sample is divided into three groups of egg shapes, namely group I of the pointed egg shape with an egg index of 76%, each group consisting of 25 eggs. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively and presented in a table form by calculating the fertility, hatchability of eggs and the sex ratio of joper chicks. The results showed that the egg fertility rate in group I was 80.00%, group II was 88.00% and group III was 72.00%; the hatchability rate of eggs in group I was 70.00%, group II was 86.36% and group III was 61.11%; and the sex ratio of joper chicks hatched in group I (1.33), group II (1.11), and group III (1.20). In conclusion, the shape of the egg affects the fertility and hatchability of joper chicken eggs, but does not affect the sex ratio of joper chicks.
