Perairan utara aceh berada di bagian barat laut pulau sumatera, pada perairan utara aceh ini terdapat pulau – pulau seperti pulau sabang, pulau teunom, pulau buntal, pulau breuh dan juga pulau nasi. perairan utara aceh berdekatan dengan garis kathulistiwa sehingga mengakibatkan cuaca yang terjadi di pengaruhi oleh iklim tropis, khusus nya musim angin timur laut dan musim angin barat daya. kondisi perairan yang berada pada garis kathulistiwa umumnya beriklim tropis. sea surface height (ssh) atau yang biasa disebut topografi permukaan laut merupakan representatif jarak antara permukaan air laut dengan referensi elipsoid bumi atau goid. tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk dapat mengetahui hasil sebaran sea surface height (ssh) pada bulan februari dan agustus 2017, dan juga untuk menampilkan data sebaran sea surface height (ssh) selama angin musim (monsun) pada bulan februari dan agustus 2017. penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif. data sea surface height (ssh) dan data angin yang sudah di peroleh kemudian dikaji lalu di jelaskan hubungan kedua data tersebut. variasi nilai tinggi muka air laut yang dihasilkan pada bulan februari dan bulan agustus 2017 menunjukkan adanya perbedaan antara dua bulan tersebut. pada bulan februari 2017 nilai tinggi muka air laut yaitu 0.3 – 0.5 m sedangkan pada bulan agustus 2017 nilai tinggi muka air laut yaitu 0.4 – 0.6 m. nilai yang ditampilkan menunjukkan bahwa variasi yang terjadi pada dua bulan tersebut rata – rata sama, yang membedakan pada bulan agustus 2017 lebih besar nilainya dibandingkan bulan februari 2017. kata kunci : perairan utara aceh, angin musim (monsun), ssh, iklim tropis, tinggi muka air laut, variasi.

The northern waters of Aceh are in the northwest part of the island of Sumatra, in the northern waters of Aceh there are islands such as Sabang Island, Teunom Island, Buntal Island, Breuh Island and also Rice Island. The waters of northern aceh are close to the equator, causing the weather to be influenced by a tropical climate, especially the northeast monsoon season and the southwest monsoon season. Conditions of waters located at the equator generally have a tropical climate. Sea surface height (SSH) or commonly called sea surface topography is a representative of the distance between sea level and the reference ellipsoid of the earth or goid. The purpose of this study was to find out the results of the distribution of sea surface height (SSH) in February and August 2017, and also to display data on the distribution of sea surface height (SSH) during the monsoons in February and August 2017. This study done by using descriptive method. The sea surface height (SSH) data and the wind data that have been obtained are then studied and the relationship between the two data is explained. Variations in sea level values produced in February and August 2017 indicate a difference between the two months. In February 2017 the sea level height value was 0.3 – 0.5 m while in August 2017 the sea level height value was 0.4 – 0.6 m. The values displayed show that the variations that occur in the two months are on average the same, the difference is that in August 2017 the value is greater than in February 2017.
