The students have their own expectations regarding the lecturer’s style of teaching English. This research is aimed to find out the university students’ expectations of the lecturer’s style in teaching English. This research used descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods as the research design. The data were collected by giving 21 items of the questionnaire to 45 students and interviewing 9 participants who were randomly chosen from the 2018 batch of students at the English Education Department of Syiah Kuala University. The quantitative data were analyzed by percentage (%) calculation technique while the qualitative data were analyzed based on Miles, Huberman, and Saldana (2014) which consists of the data condensation, the data display, and the conclusion. The results of the research revealed that the dominant lecturer’s style expected by the students in teaching English is the combination of facilitator style, personal model style, and expert style. The students favored the lecturers who facilitate students’ learning activities, give personal examples, and provide detailed information that students’ needed.
