Bawang putih telah dipelajari dalam banyak hal karena manfaatnya seperti sebagai obat. bawang putih mengandung beberapa zat aktif seperti minyak atsiri, alkaloid, flavonoid, dan saponin. allisin berperan utama dalam memberi aroma dan berkhasiat untuk mengobati beberapa penyakit. penelitian ini bertujuan menguji efektivitas ekstrak etanol bawang putih terhadap penurunan level endometritis dan total koloni bakteri pada sapi aceh melalui pemberian ekstrak bawang putih. dalam penelitian ini digunakan tiga ekor sapi aceh betina berusia 3-5 tahun dengan bobot badan 150-250 kg yang didiagnosis menderita endometritis melalui uji white side test (wst). semua sapi betina disinkronisasi menggunakan hormon prostaglandin yang diinjeksi secara intramuskulus sebanyak 5 ml. deteksi berahi dilakukan pada pagi (08.00 wib) dan sore (16.00 wib) selama 30 menit. koleksi mukus serviks dilakukan 8-12 jam setelah awal berahi. pemberian ekstrak bawang putih sebanyak 20 ml dengan konsentrasi 40% sehari sekali selama 7 hari berturut-turut dengan menggunakan gun inseminasi buatan (ib) yang dimasukkan ke dalam uterus. uji wst dan penghitungan total koloni bakteri dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. hasil penelitian uji wst secara skoring terjadi penurunan level dan total koloni bakteri endometritis. data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan uji wilxocon. level endometritis sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan masing masing adalah 1,7±0,3 dan 1,0±0,0 dan untuk total koloni bakteri sebelum dan sesudah masing-masing adalah 0,17±0,12 dan 0,05±0,029 tidak berbeda nyata (p>0,05). kesimpulannya ekstrak bawang putih dengan konsentrasi 40% belum mampu menurunkan level endometritis dan total koloni bakteri secara efektif. kata kunci: ekstrak, uji wst, koloni bakteri



Abstract

Garlic has been studied in many ways for its benefit as medicinal. Garlic contains several active substances such as essential oils, alkaloids, flavonoids, and saponins. Allicin plays a major role in giving aroma and effective in treating several diseases. This study aims to test the effectiveness of garlic ethanol extract in reducing the endometritis level and total bacterial colonies in Aceh cattle through the garlic extract treatment. In this study used three female Aceh cattle aged 3-5 years old with a body weight of 150-250 kg which were diagnosed with endometritis through the White Side Test (WST) test. All female cattle were synchronized using prostaglandin hormone injected intramuscularly as much as 5 ml. The estrus detection was carried out in the morning (08.00 WIB) and afternoon (16.00 WIB) in 30 minutes. Cervical mucus collection was given 8-12 hours after the onset of estrus. Giving 20 ml of garlic extract with a concentration of 40% once a day for 7 consecutive days using an Artificial Insemination (IB) gun that was put into the uterus. WST test and total bacterial colony count were carried out before and after the treatment. The WST test result by scoring showed a decrease in the level and total colony of endometritis bacteria. The data obtained were analyzed by Wilxocon test. The endometritis level before and after the treatment were 1.7±0.3 and 1.0±0.0 and for the total bacterial colonies before and after the treatment were 0.17±0.12 and 0.05±0.029 were not significantly different (P>0.05). In conclusion, garlic extract with a concentration of 40% has not been able to reduce the endometritis level and total bacterial colo ponies effectively.
